The prayers of the saints and the Theotokos are amazingly powerful. My marriage was falling apart, my relationship with my 3 children was awful, my problems with alcoholism, drugs, cigarettes were making me a slave, my oppression from the devils was making me insane etc. And I called on the intercession of the Holy Saints and Theotokos and their prayers were heard! Thank God for His Body aka the Orthodox Church! Thank God for His Son who is its Head! I’m so thankful for His Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness. Pray for me brothers and sisters! I’m 40 years old and my life is just beginning. Will it be easy? No. Will it be right? Yes. ☦️ Thank you fathers for all your work. Keep it going ✊🏻

As St. Patrick of Ireland says, "Christ in every eye that sees me". I try to live that out. I started the journey from Protestantism 4 years ago, started attending a GOC 13months ago, the Holy Fire critiques really threw me for a six, I stopped attending for a month, now I'm trapped in a vicious meth cycle except this last week. I've attained Influenza which has been more blessing than curse. I have no where else to go but Christ, I don't want the Christ I made with Protestant straw but the stench of filth that pours out my flesh is not fitting for the dung heap. I turned to the Orthodox way knowing that I would find the real Christ Jesus, then I turned my back, has the plough left me behind or can I still run after it? The Holy Spirit knows me, He sees if I fall or rise, I don't want to insult the Lord if I'm just going to insult the Lord. I want to bring Him glory but I always/have fail/ed Him. Do I pursue anyway? I hope but it's dim.

The reason Jesus died on the cross, he knew we would fail, And he did his Father's will. Obedience, and Love for Your Neighbors is not hard to do. Its a process. For me, exorcisms are paramount because I have been experiencing bad symptoms of demons infesting my body/soul. By praying in the name of Jesus Christ, the demons power is reduced a lot. In fact I have a audiobook by St Ignatius about this. On my KZbin channel. They fear this more than anything. In the Talmud, it is forbidden to use the name of God to raise the dead. That's how much the non-Messianic Jews feared this practice. Since it has effectual abilities. Some of the Fathers said that the vision of God can destroy demons. It is definitely a two-edged weapon. I think its the secret which the world does not understand or want you to know about. It reveals demons, and drives them out. Protestants are keen on this, this calling on Jesus. Its strange. It could have to do with the reptilian part of our brain/selves. I'm just gonna leave it at that. Stay safe and sane.

@LadyMaria10 ай бұрын
Just a laywoman reiterating what I've been told and learned. No, they are art (although we have crosses that are not mere art, of course). We have icons but we do not worship them, though we venerate (give honor to) the person written on the wood in ink, to venerate the image of God within them. They are our beloved family in Christ.

This was an enjoyable and challenging conversation. But sometimes very discouraging. I don’t think people quite realize just what heavy burdens people carry. Or how much of their failures are simply weakness and true limits of strength. Also, since when is a beer and a football game prohibited to an Otthodox Christian? That really caught me off guard, though I’m personally interested in neither.

@@nicodemuseamSorry we never responded earlier! What does the LORD say?: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This means that step by step we struggle, persevere, grow…. “…till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness This laxity of forgetting about God for a few hours here and there to be entertained - is it a fulfillment of the Lord’s words and does it further us on to the fullness of Christ? OF COURSE, all things in moderation, as the ancients said… that is, all ascetic struggles according to our present capacity… and there are times when we stop and take a breathe - absolutely. BUT… over time the aim is for that capacity to expand, step by step, until Christ is all in all.

Is the magisterium of the Orthodox Church infallible?
@LadyMaria Жыл бұрын
We don't have a magisterium the way the Roman catholic institution does. We have the consensus of the Saints and Ecumenical Councils which is far superior to the RCC's magisterium (ordinary or extraordinary). After all they would not have had Vatican II at the very least if they had the consensus of the Saints (pre-schism for them) and Ecumenical Councils. The Great Schism of the Roman church would not have happened either had they stuck to those things.

More than not, people have been neglected by their dads. Their earthly fathers. They have no authentic example to understand a loving authority. One with boundaries and love in correction, in discipline. Christ is the ultimate Loving authority right? People live in father poverty. How can one understand discipline with love if they haven't experienced Christ through their parents or caregivers? We somehow have to give an authentic example for learning and understanding of Christ as our Father to even being to know Christ. This is the apostleship or discipleship that is necessary: we first live Christ so Christ can be seen by others in an authentic way. Forgive me for my word stew:) I just really love Christ and everyone deserves to know Him

@OrthodoxEthos Жыл бұрын
You can shut it off on your screen.
@CerebralThinking9 ай бұрын
@americaneclectic... Think about this, my friend. You are engaged with a "sharing" platform" yet your preference is to shut down other voices. Is the "cacophony....[its] cries for help [and] some wisdom not an integral part of humanity, and our Christian heritage. I'd suggest that the "cries for help", specifically, are a symptom of this beast system throttling these very voices that attempt to express the inexpressible in a world gone mad; the nature of modern existence -- a gauntlet of social, political, health and religious crises that we are being compelled to negotiate. This always triggers a chorus of competing cries for help. That said, it does feel like a torturous passage of events, truly trial and tribulation. I am not a social platform sharer by nature, and do not air my own personal "agonies", but we all have them. Therefore, I now view these "cries for help", to use such an example, as a predictable, and necessary channel for those who have no obvious outlet to communicate their acute pain, and at times, sheer desperation. If the powers and principalities of the "evil one" can use modern media to their advantage against the human race, then we should counter-balance this in order to help and support each other. This is the unavoidable position I have come to. We simply must come together in Christ and connect via social and spiritual networks in order to insulate us from what has now become, the daily attacks on God, and his children. The beast system is now moving into its final stages: "mandatory innoculations", "digital identity numbers" (the mark of the beast), the coming "social credit" system (already trialed in China for over three years) which no person will be able to "buy or sell" if their credit score (social behaviour) is not approved by the "technocrats" (the little Eichmann's) overseeing this current tyranny. Essentially, those sociopaths are now setting up a siege system to compel the behaviour of mass conformity -- and, most significantly, the abandonment of Christ. We see the unadulterated image of this apostasy in the Vatican itself, and in the actions of a Pope who, according to an obvious globalist ideology (and Godless vision of our future) is single handedly taking a wrecking ball to the very foundations of the catholic church, and the image of God, Himself.
