Houndour has Flash Fire, so Bowser Jr’s attack would have done no damage and actually increased Houndour’s fire power. Pichu started this fight for no reason.

I know this was more of a budget episode than the others, but I think it shows everything Smash Bracket did so well. The lack of voice acting was natural for both of them, and they were expressive enough to have the viewer know what they were thinking regardless. The choice to have it on a playground with Bowser Jr. being a sereotypical bully was unexpected, but an inspired choice, and it really used the environment to the best of its ability.

Kids fighting in a playground is a new one. Variety was always a strength of this show. Of course the last time we saw Pichu, it was witnessing Dark Samus go on a killing spree. I know Kirby is the deliberate target, but i should probably go talley how many times Mario got wrecked in these animations.

When you realize Pichu’s heroics most likely have been unnecessary because Houndour can get the flash fire ability and it’s just a fire type in general

Not ALL Houndour's have that ability, this one could have had Early Bird. And fire type moves can still hurt, and one from Bowser Jr, likely would hurt alot.

Honestly, as short as it is- I really love how creatively the p[layground setting was used here. Stuff like Jr. using the slide to launch into the swing for Momentum and Pichu electrocuting all of the metal parts of the monkey bars and jungle gym. Very much a short but sweet package, I loved all the little interactions like that. Setup was adorable as well, Dad bowser is always a joy to see and a Pichu stepping in to protect a friend (That probably would have been immune anyway because of flash fire lol) is absolutely precious. Just in general, the animation team did a great job, especially with the choreography and the expression work on the sprites.

While I don't exactly believe in "canonical wins" in crossover fights, since the characters are from different universes with different rules and even if they weren't, the author is usually the one choosing the winner... Yeah, this fight was still superb with great animation and use of their abilities. Anti-Mario was a nice surprise and the ending was deliciously wholesome. Kudos.

I like how after the epic fight between Bowser's son and Pichu, he came to not just show good sportsmanship like as if he was spectating from an distance. (Which if it was true, then it would make sense) But the fact he actually shown true passionate caring for both his son and Pichu. First of all this is a fanmade animation. Second of all, he enslaved people in paper jam and tried to burn down an entire universe with paper Mario, Mario, Luigi and paper Bowser inside of it. He tried to take over the universe a total of 8 times throughout the series. He watched and did nothing while his son literally caused a drought and almost made a volcano that had people living in it erupt in Mario Wonder, infact he was probably proud of Jr doing stuffs like that. Oh, and when Antasma blew up entire islands that could have people living in it, he laughed and said it was awesome. OH AND he also once traveled back in time in one Yoshi island game to KIDNAP BABIES in order to find the seven star children and rule the world. He kidnapped babies. You were saying? And no, just because he loves his son, his minions and Peach doesn't automatically clear him of all his crimes, that's ridiculous. Hitler loved his mom too, yet none is saying Hitler was a good person because of that. (Yeah Bowser is WAY better than Hitler, I'm just using it as an example to show even the most evil people CAN love other people and it doesn't mean they're not evil.)

@@AmazedPIKACHU Yep as you have to remember, Pichu is still a baby Pokémon as it’s learning how to control its Electric type attacks which is basically Pichu’s entire gimmick in Smash as it takes damage from its own attacks since it doesn’t truly control it until it evolves into Pikachu and by extension, fully evolving into Raichu.
