Hey all, I'm just answering a common question I am anticipating: Where is the analysis? ---- We announced last week that we will be closing both the Smash Bracket and Crossover Colosseum channels. We have already stopped production but have several episodes already animated and ready to post. We will be posting those animations to this channel and to Smash Bracket until we have run out of our backlog. Until that point, there will not be analyses alongside the animations. ⁠​⁠@@heyguysxdyes all the important research was shown in the link at the bottom, and yes, it was close, with KB apparently beating Gengar in stats (assuming Gengar doesn’t boost them immediately), but Gengar has hax and ways to get around some of boo’s most common attacks, not to mention being way more experienced in combat, which would let it notice that King Boo’s power comes from the crystal in its head.

I just realized an interesting detail; the analysis script states King Boo only needs about ten hits to win, and early on in the animation Gengar takes heavy damage, prompting him to heal and avoid taking many more hits.

Tbf normal giga gengar would not be useful, it does double the hp of the glass cannon that is gengar to turn him into... An unmoving portal that cannot even resist hits that well Yeah, using the giant gengar was not only a great reference but also the best strategic choice

Impressive how you managed to keep a fight between two stubby-limbed blobs exciting and varied. Especially with all the different moves and forms Gengar got to use. The fake Bowser having no pupils was also a nice touch.

When Crossover Colosseum announced the matchups it planned to make, King Boo vs Gengar was easily one of my most anticipated fights. And man did this animation completely blow me away. So many hype moments that caught me off guard in the best way. Definitely my personal favorite fight on this channel. Everyone working on it should be proud.

Man. The wait for this was SO WORTH IT. Im so impressed with how good this animation is. A bit of a shame we couldn’t get an analysis, but this is completely satisfactory. Gengar is my favorite fictional character of all time, so seeing him in a vs. animation was such a treat, and seeing him not only do so many cool things in the fight but also win made me unbelievably happy, and turned this honestly pretty crappy day I was having completely around. Hmmm, from what i can tell it was close, it really came down to who can really have the best advantage. If King Boo could've had ways to neutralise Gengars possible abilities, the burn and had even a good way to heal would've gave king boo the win, but Gengar definitely had a lot to use. If King Boos crown was unbreakable then the battle could've been going for a lot longer.

Are we all really going to sit here and actually believe that Gengar, in any of his forms, could defeat King Boo? Miyamoto has already confirmed that EVERY Mario you played as mainline and side games are the same Mario from the same universe, Paper Mario's Japanese title quite literally says, "Mario Story". Therefore, they all share the same feats, scaling, etc, which should be more than enough to splatter Gengar all over the walls. King Boo is willing entire dimensions/universes into existence and collapsing/destroying them! Hell, he even almost collapsed the main universe in on itself! King Boo SWEEPS! Their needs to be a true match between the two, oh wait! It wouldn't really be much of a match-up now, would it? That fight would be soo one sided it genuinely wouldn't make for a very thrilling fight because of how fast the actual battle would end! And if their are any Boo's on the battlefield; they'll just lend the King their strength just like in Luigi's Mansion and make him more busted than he already is! King Boo litteraly uses a gem that alters reality, creates dimensions, collapses dimensions, and creates illusions, and even if Gengar somehow outhaxes, King Boo could potentially nullify anything Gengar throws at him by just being stronger than him.

The former was just something mostly for animation--and besides, we see Pokemon Mega Evolve without a Trainer, like in Super Mystery Dungeon. And the latter was just an illusion, that was the whole point of why King Boo couldn't touch it.
