Part 6 of me fixing a smashed 66 Mustang. Today I use 3M panel bonding adhesive to mount the quarter panel patch onto the car.

Panel bond is very strong. You shouldn't have any issue with it coming apart.

Curious as to why you used panel bond as to welding it together..

Because of the possibility of warping plus I wanted to try it. It saved a lot of wear and tear on my welder. Mig welding it would have meant hundreds of quick trigger pulls zap welding it. That is a lot of relays clicking, gas valve turning on then off etc. I still have a lot of welding to do. I only panel bonded it in two areas.

@@dansmessygarage6720 I was just thinking if that area took a "Hit" again.."HOPE NOT"...but would it bend or just separate with the panel bond..?? again just curious..Boy you got it lined up perfect though!! Enjoying these videos!!

​​@@jct300mIn my experience, if he gets hit again, it'll crack up and fall out. It might do that even if he doesn't get hit.

According to the 3M video's, It will bend and actually helps the strength of the metal it is bonded to. It doesn't separate easily.
