I have helped hundreds of people pass their B2 First exam at no cost, and I would LOVE to keep it that way. Of course, I still have to maintain a full time job while running this channel, and BELIEVE ME, I spend the majority of my free time writing, recording, editing and publishing videos. I love doing this, but I would love it even more if I could do it for a living! If every student that PASSED their exams bought one beer for Bruce I’d be able to do this full time. That would be MARVELLOUS! So, if you’ve PASSED your B2 First exam, and feel that SMASH English really helped, please consider donating here: www.buymeacoffee.com/SMASHEnglish This is not an obligation. One of the fantastic things about SMASH English is that it is free for everyone that needs it! This will not change. However, if you do feel you can say thanks with a little bit of money then that’s fantastic. Thank you all! Toby.

@@SMASHEnglish Hey man! ahahah thanks for asking I would like to say all of the exam went smoothly, but in fact it wasn't for some little parts. - The reading and use of english: No problem in that part, BUT i forgot the part 7 of it and in the last 10 minutes i tried to recover it ahahah (i'm stupid) - Writing: To my surprise the words came out of my pen with absolutely no problem! Thanks to your splendids advices (I used lots of them xD) - Listening: I think i did like 99-100% correct, i'm magnificent in listening people talking, since i'm a shy guy - Speaking: It went really good i think! I said things i didn't really thought for some questions like "Do you like going to the reastaurant?" and things like that, but that wasn't the point in the speaking part right? You just have to SPEAK properly In conclusion, it could have gone better but i am happy with what i did :) PS: In the writing part i used one emoji in the part concerning the informal letter, do you think it could be ok? Edit: I didn't remember to write in the writing part one of the main points of the essay, fuck me, i was too anxious and i missed that point :/
@SMASHEnglish4 жыл бұрын
Aaaah! Well I am glad you (on the whole...) feel happy with your performance! "In the writing part i used one emoji in the part concerning the informal letter, do you think it could be ok?" Yes that's absolutely fine! "I didn't remember to write in the writing part one of the main points of the essay, fuck me, i was too anxious and i missed that point :/" You mean you missed a prompt? Ah! That's a shame! You definitely won't get full marks for CONTENT. However I wouldn't worry, you can still pass the exam in general. In fact, even if you FAIL the writing part of the exam you can still obtain the B2 certification! So relax and tell me the good news once you get your result!

I haven't seen one. You may get questions asking about the advantages or disadvantages of doing something a certain way. For example a picture of a market and a picture of a supermarket. But that's basically the same question as "why have people decided to do their shopping in these ways".

Toby, how about talking about your own experience while describing two pics in part 2? Something like " l remember when i first tried playing golf it was.....". Or " I would like to try playing basketball because it is ....". Is it acceptable to say that, when the question is not actually about YOU, but you just don't have any ideas what to talk about? The reason why I am asking you this, is that i watchey another video about FCE B2 first, so they said it's ok. And i was actually surprised. Another question is about time. What if i speak 52 sec? Will it low my marks? How should i know when to stop? Again, watching that video it said it's better to speak more than 1 min and wait till the examiner stops you. What do you think about this? Thanks for advanced. Really appreciate your videos
@SMASHEnglish3 жыл бұрын
Good question, although do not overthink things too much! It's fine if you talk about your personal experiences if you link them to the question. "I remember the first time I played golf and it was very relaxing so I think she may have chosen to play golf in order to relax"... for example. I suggest practicing with a stopwatch. Eventually you will get a feel for how long a minute is. The important thing is you do not run out of things to say 30 seconds in and pause for extended periods. If the examiner stops you this is not a bad thing, however it is not a good thing if you have not yet answered the question in relation to both images. It all depends on the context.
