THE SUBJUNCTIVE: All you NEED to KNOW! - English Grammar for C1 Advanced (CAE)

The subjunctive is confusing grammar. In fact, when using the subjunctive we purposefully break grammar rules that we already know! How do we use the subjunctive? And more importantly, WHY do we use the subjunctive? This video will explain all you need to know about using the subjunctive in the C1 Advanced Cambridge English Exam.
The truth is, your probably already use the subjunctive. In fact, you need to know some uses of the subjunctive for the B2 First cambridge exam, so you are already familiar with some uses of sunjunctive grammar. This video will recap some of these uses of the subjunctive, and cover subjunctive reporting verbs that are crucial for scoring high marks in the C1 Advanced Cambridge Exam!

Hi, I would add another situation we use "subjunctive" as well. After the phrases such as: it is important, it is vital, it is crucial, etc. we use subjunctive to emphasize urgency and importance. Moreover, what is interesting, that old english form can be seen way more in AE than in BE nowadays

For example: "She insisted that I bring more cake" vs "She insisted that I should bring more cake" "He advised that she study harder" vs "He advised that she should study harder" What are the differences of these sentences?

I have a grammar playlist for C1 Advanced, but honestly the difference between C1 and B2 First isn't so much grammar as it is knowledge of collocations, fixed phrases and vocabulary.
