@biancaagostino44183 жыл бұрын
And if i have to write it all in pencil or if the writing is with a pen
@SMASHEnglish3 жыл бұрын
😂Keep calm, Bianca! I would use capital letters on the answer sheet for the Listening and Use of English part of the exam. You should do this in pencil. For the writing you should use a black pen. You can use capital letters if you want but remember to make it clear when you are using "real" capital letters (for proper nouns etc). If your handwriting is legible then write normally! I hope that helps you!

In question number3, can I just say "I would never drink at work!"? Or would it change completely the meaning of the first sentence?
@SMASHEnglish3 жыл бұрын
Good question. Grammatically it would be correct, but as you said, it completely changes the meaning of the first sentence so in the context of the exam it would be wrong. Hope that helps!
@marcorossi73393 жыл бұрын
@@SMASHEnglish it would be wrong and they would give me zero point? Or only 1/2 point?
@crazykindor64393 жыл бұрын
@@marcorossi7339 "I would never drink at work" would be fine if it was the result clause of a second conditional (like that I've written right now lol). But you are not Bruce, and the original meaning is the hypothetical "you" complaining about Bruce's behaviour, so it MUST start with I wish. I guess you'd lose both marks with this answer, unfortunately.

Yesterday my FCE results came and I am happy to say that I PASSED!:)) Grade C, score 169. To be honest, I expected better score, I wanted to achieve at least Grade B. I'm not sure why, but my Writing was only 166, even though this part was easy and I did well. Number of words was alright, content, organisation, language..all seems totally fine to me, I don't have huge problems with writing, so I have no idea what was wrong with it. Then my speaking part was only 160, but that was because there were pretty weird guestions And honestly, I didn't know what to say even in my native language and my partner was so confusing. Overall, I'm delighted that I passed, however, I feel sorry that I can't see what was wrong. Any ideas please? Anyway good luck to everyone preparing for the exam:)
@SMASHEnglish3 жыл бұрын
Hey Adele! Thanks for coming back to let me know how things went. Please do not try and over-analyse too much! You passed and that is what is important. For writing it could be a number of things. Maybe you didn't use a wide enough variety of structures? Maybe your grammar was too simple? Maybe you made simple mistakes? Maybe your vocabulary wasn't broad enough? Maybe you didn't answer the question adequately? Without seeing the texts themselves I really couldn't say. The same applies for your speaking. I wish I could help, but I can't without seeing everything for myself!😅 Anyway, well done! You did what you needed to do! I can tell you don't have problems with writing, your comment was written well 😉
