This is probably the best explanation of what causes that chicken wing in a lot of golfers.

Just taken up golf and watched hundreds of videos here on YT. Thankfully, I've now found your channel Natalie and quite frankly it is, for me, by far the best. Your ability to explain, what seems to the beginner, the complex body mechanics of the swing in an easily digestible way is a God send. Thanks and keep up the fantast work

Sincere thank you to Natalie for making this video. I have dealt with the left arm chicken wing for years thinking it was a product of my unwillingness to extend my arms due to overall body aches and pains. After watching I tried this with my camera rolling. Absolute positive difference! Perfect explanation Natalie!

Thank You for Tips. I Have Bad Rotation. Will Work on This. 👏🙋♀️🇮🇪. Take Care.
@thomasfraser90724 жыл бұрын
Carmel Bolton focus on simple rotating your lead thigh inward for the backswing and lead thigh rotating outward for the downswing; the rest of the body will rotate in sequence with the lead thigh. On the downswing do not push with your trail foot as the lead thigh tuning/rotating outward will automatically provide the initial torque in your swing as it straighten your lead leg and pick up your trail foot at the finish of your swing. It is that easy.

Hi Natalie. Rotating my lead thigh inward for the backswing and outward for the downswing is extremely easy and accurate swing that gets the entire body rotating as well as it providing the necessary initial torque in our swing. Also on the downswing I never push off with my trail foot as it would change my swing path. The trail foot will naturally stands up at the end of my swing as my lead leg straightens out Cheers

Great Lesson Natalie, my problem for sure..I get nervous when I hit solid drives and have a clear shot 150 to the green and get a 7, on a par 4..Practice makes progress tho..WIll keep you posted on my results..Like tomorrow 8:36 tee time..Black River Lower Michigan. Have a blessed day!!

I was doing good got a birdie on a Par 5 but blew up a par 3, sloping green!! and got a 7 on a par 4..So 45 and 49..2nd time out this year..I started to use alota body coil on drives and was rippin it!! I usually use upper body movement for some stupid reason,,Back hurts then. I need to extend on iron shots, I was reaching the par 4'S in 2, so that was refreshing then 3 putted all of them except one..I have some video can i send them to you?
@SMASHFACTORGOLFCOACHING4 жыл бұрын
that sounds really positive but you need to get those 3 putts under control to drop that score. You can certainly send me some videos. if you follow this link smashfactor.lessoncaddy.com/packages

Hi Natalie, really great explanation of the chicken wing problem. I've lost power and consistency of strike for years because of this. I find it so difficult to start the backswing with the body first. Will try these drills and book a lesson with you next time I'm "up north" and lockdowns over. Thanks Natalie

I watched this video for the first time yesterday. So I tried it on the golf course today. Wow . I hit a couple of irons so sweet today. It felt soooo good . Unfortunately too well as they went through the green. Great explanation of the rotation. Thank you Does this work with driver? Just different ball position
@SMASHFACTORGOLFCOACHING4 жыл бұрын
hi yes it does you just won’t get your hands so far forward at impact with the ball being further forward

Great video. One suggestion to all coaches out there. I don't understand why most coaches focus on the "No, no,no" instead of the "This is the way you need to do it". Most of the video is about how not to do things. Thank you for the video

Natalie, I am having a little problem with my irons hitting turf before ball contact instead of taking turf after the ball is struck. Your tips seem to identify my problem - not moving my hips fast enough through the down swing. Is that the cure? Thanks, James
@SMASHFACTORGOLFCOACHING4 жыл бұрын
Hi James I don’t think you are pressuring into your left side and rotating towards the target fast enough. it sounds like your accelerating the club and your upper body too early on the downswing and that your a bit out of sequence. Hope that helps. if you would like me to have a look at your swing you can always have an online lesson with me where I would be able to analyse your swing more accurately, offer you simple solutions and provide you with support to make the changes 👍
