I just bought some live target smelt, and was looking up videos on them when I came across this one. Love catching brook trout, can’t wait to get back to the park!

For Brookies like that they are deep in the park. If the lake was easy to get too you would not see fishing like that on the best of days. Carrying stuff through the back country is a challenge. Less is more.

Thanks for the positive feedback Tom! Small Jerkbaits such as the LIVETARGET Rainbow Smelt, Dace and Trout seemed to produce the most (and biggest) fish. Inline spinners (mepps, vibriax etc.), small spoons, and hair jigs also did the trick. Tight lines!

@@bigwatermedia603 most people are too lazy anyway to actually portage to those lakes! The best lakes are the hardest to get to and that's why they are generally the best.. @ Kacey, grab a map, look up the lakes that show BT on the map, and target the hardest to get to lakes.. you should get something! Anything near the corridor will suck. The Backroads Map are great.. good luck! I'm still trying to find the trophy lakes.. check out Canada Fishing Guide videos.. he catches behemoth brook trout with his son in APP.

interesting that a lot of those fish are males... I wonder if it has to do with the spawn and more aggressive male behaviour?
