Marty you are one of the best guitar song tutorial channels. A lot of the songs I want to play, you show up and never disappoint. I had a short love/hate relation with the guitar in my late teens/early twenties. I'm 38 now with a bit more time, perseverence (and money) and the fire has rekindled. A month in and I allready know and can do more than I could in the wayback. I rock an Epi LP Tribute Plus (such a versatile guitar for the money) but it's songs like this that leave me allready wanting to get an acoustic as well.

That passing chord is often thought of as a major dyad/ inversion. Not all the time but most of the time. It really helps to think of it that way if your looking where to use it and how it fits in when songwriting. So youve got your 3rd as the bass note and your root as the second note.
