Except they messed up on two lines. It’s supposed to be A crown of thorns, an image formed, behold.

Haha same here. I was always more focused on learning the guitar parts than the lyrics

This song is a tough nut to crack. The simple minded explanation is that it's about suicide, but I think it's about transcending one's self imposed restrictions that have been gained from the social construct. Breaking out of your comfort zone and becoming that which you want to be, hence the lines "no more lies" and "I shall be free of those voices inside me". The very name of the song, Rocket, is a metaphor for leaving to find something new. It's a great song! One of my favorites for just shy of 3 decades now.

Oooh I like that. About transcending❤

Perhaps. Thats the funny thing about writing music, could mean different things to different people. I suppose the real question is what does it mean to you. I always disliked when people asked me what we wrote was about. It’s like visual art, you tell me.

Such a brilliantly crafted song. I love how everything is off beat except for the chorus parts and how that pull n' push flows together seamlessly. Master craftsmen at work.

The moon is out The stars invite, I think I'll leave Tonight..... This is a very freeing song. BC is an amazing guitar player, but an even better lyricist

how exactly
@jeffreyhall32988 жыл бұрын
Large, standard font, black background, no embellishment. Just lyrics appearing immediately when you hear them in the song. This may be taking it too far, but each phrase appears as it's meant to be heard without too few or too many words onscreen at once.

Love (Love) (Love) (Love) Bleed in your own light Dream of your own life I miss me I miss everything I'll never be And on, and on I torch my soul to show the world that I am pure Deep inside my heart No more lies A crown of horns An image formed deformed The mark I've borne A mark of scorn to you Consume my love, devour my hate Only powers my escape The moon is out the stars invite I think I'll leave tonight Soon I'll find myself alone To relax and fade away Do you know what's coming down Do you know I couldn't stay free? I shall be free I shall be free I shall be free I shall be free Free, free Free of those voices inside me I shall be free I shall be free

Billy Corgan: "There's this line from the song 'Rocket': 'Bleed in your own light.' I wanna f---in' bleed in my own light, not in Kurt Cobain's, not in Perry Farrell's. I wanna go down in my own f---in' ship. That's what I'm about."

@@rolasg3278 He said it in an interview. He was talking about how people tried to call them the new Nirvana etc. If you go to Song Facts they have the quoate, but he did interview so long ago I can't tell you who he was being interviewed by. I am sure it is somewhere on the Internet and if you do a little leg work you can see the complete interview.
