He's actually always (well, since the 90's) been considered one of the best drummers in rock history. So I don't really know who's underrating him.

Gore Elohim He's number 53 on the greatest drummers of all time list, according to this year's Rolling Stone "100 Greatest Drummers of All Time". However despite the name, the list mostly includes rock, pop and funk drummers (no jazz).

I was there - and I will never forget it. Some of this transcends music. It's pure, condensed, risky energy and bare emotion. A unique moment in time. I thought I over-estimated how great this performance was. Thank you for posting the video. It's nice to know that it really was an amazing moment.

@@cuteasxtreme Couldn't agree with you more piggy! Unfortunately it's because the industry is stuck in this pop culture/rap bullshit. It's too easy to make music nowadays with a loop machine. Kids these days don't want to put in the time it takes to play like Billy and others. Most would rather play video games and make loops on thier PC's. You don't need talent anymore, just a catchy beat and chorus will sell records. Maybe one day, real music will make a comeback. I'm just glad I was able to experience the 80's and 90's. Also that I was able to play gigs without everyone on thier cell phones.
@cuteasxtreme5 жыл бұрын
@@bbqbum0077 I disagree with that. In fact the only shows that people really go crazy at nowadays are electronic shows and for good reason, a lot of that music is totally wild. Rock is in a lull because no one is really innovating and it's fallen into the old people music category. Hip hop also is pretty huge now but when many big rappers just lazily rap along to a track the shows don't get very exciting...
