No wind, cloud cover, 23° track temp, and a setup made for a single lap (unlike the Indy 500 qualy: 4 laps) which cooked the tyres and almost minimum downforce too.

Love this, but a bit of constructive criticism if you don’t mind. First, the RPM seems a bit low at 14200 rpm in 6th gear when you reach top speed on the straights. As a general rule you want to be about 100 rpm off the (15000rpm in this case) redline in top gear (so at 14900 rpm) when you reach top speed (this would grant you an additional 30-50hp and increase top speed to over 410 km/h). Second, as a general rule you would want to gear down to 5th going into turn 2, shift back into 6th on the backstretch, gear down into 5th again on the exit of turn 3, and shift up to 6th again on the frontstretch (while holding the throttle at wide open) (if you watch Indy 500 qualifying you will see that everyone does this). Setting up your 5th and 6th gears to do this (i.e having 5th gear top out at 400-405 km/h and 6th at 410-420 km/h) is the truly optimal setup. But other than that nice job.

I didn't to match conditions. The point of this video is to see how fast you could go theoricaly. I doubt any of us could beat a profesional racing team and driver 😅

Not sure if AC models it but you're running too close to the walls on the straights. That increases drag in reality due to compressibility of the air.

That would be ideal but you would lose time in these high-power cars as you need every inch of the road to keep it flat-out and use all that power. These cars are grip-limited unlike the current cars. Even with the current cars you see them getting close to wall when the grip is at a premium (Bad cars or track conditions). It is worth it. I don't if you saw the Fast 12 and the Fast 6 this weekend. They got closer to the wall in the former for this reason, specially Pato.

Indycar used I be called CART. They had disagreements on how to run the sport and they created IRL. The series competed against each other for TV viewership. This is the split. They eventually merged back together and some years later they changed the name to Indycar. There is a great 4 part documentary about it on KZbin.
