Once again, my strategy of waiting longer the more viral a game is proves correct. I've learned that games that go viral or get a sudden boost in recognition usually provide the ego boost needed for devs/company employees to become very vocal about their true feelings towards others. Now I can scratch another game off my purchase list. I have often wondered how much money these fools have save me over the years but at this point, that would be almost impossible to calculate. He found Anya cute? I mean those were graphics from back in the early 2000s. I don't get either side. I don't get that he would draw a picture because he thought a blocky looking character was attractive and I don't get why they would complain about it. I would call this subject a wash that wound up making the developer look bad when they had no reason to even complain. Especially when he brought Asmon into it. I'm guessing he never even seen the video, he just heard about it and complained.

To be clear, this game ABSOLUTELY is Woke. It just uses a slightly less blatant version of 2018 Woke. It's "BelieveAllWomen" Woke. All the bad things in the game that happen are because the good guy didn't just immediately take an accuser's word over his best friend. And the worst things don't happen to the evil guy. They happen to the guy who failed to just immediately take her word over his best friend.

I think you misunderstood the point of the game. The "good guy" (Curly) is not actually a good person. He DID believe Anya when she confided in him, but Curly immediately went soft on Jimmy (the evil guy), further enabling Jimmy's bad behavior. Jimmy's repeated refusal to take responsibility is the driving force behind the game. I don't like what the audio dev said, but don't misrepresent what a game is about.

Is not my style of game, but were it, this outburst would still have been enough to turn me away from it. I speak my mind with my purchasing power. When Outer Worlds decided to be epic exclusive, it got scratched off my buy list. I encourage others to speak with their purchasing power as well to send a message.

When will people learn that not all indie games are some savior to modern gaming. A LOT of the people who makes these games are clowns, and even more so, look into who is PUBLISHING and FUNDING these games, and a lot of times it is.... DRUMROLL PLEASE! It is publishers that are some of the worst AAA companies or owned by Triple AAA companies. You really have to do your research for true indie titles. They definitely exist, but they don't all get the spot light.
