I didn't think I was crazy when I heard what seemed to be untrue. His last game before being made creative director of Dragon Age Failguard was... a Sims game. How that transports him all the way to overseeing a game with a 100-200 million dollar budget in a completely different genre, for a studio that NEEDS a major hit to survive, I will never know.

I never really understand why Bioware still have name recognition these days when their last smash success was probably Mass Effect 2 in 2010. It has literally been 15 years since they released anything close to greatness, yet for some reason their name still gets thrown around like they're a heavy hitter.

The reason I think that scene in What Is A Woman? is so interesting is because it demonstrates how out of touch, decadent and delusional some sections of western culture have become. No man in the Masai tribe would be confused about his gender, because he's too busy with the business of living: hunting, gathering, looking after his family, living in harmony with his environment and with nature; to spend time thinking about things that really don't matter. The ability to "change your gender" is a first world problem, born of the luxury and ideological echo chamber that our society affords some people. A perfect example of how the devil makes work for idle thumbs. ( I don't believe in the devil literally - just a figure of speech about engaging in destructive ideas and actions, when a person has nothing better to do with their time.)

I think it's a little more complicated than that. You can call it garbage and I kinda agree, but you have to remember that these people probably truly believe they're doing the right thing. Corinne thinks they're a victim of nature for making them a "woman" born in a mans body and society for not all of us accepting that he is a real woman and if only there was a way, with enough surgery, hormones and genetic treatment, he could become a real woman and they think trans kids deserve less surgery, hormones etc. as adults, which puberty blockers would help with. But it completely ignores the fact that in the real world... Pinocchio cannot become a real boy, Peter pan cannot stay a child and a man or adult human male cannot become a woman or adult human female. That is reality. And what he suffers from is gender dysphoria... an inability to accept their male sex. Which means that the kids he's talking about are: A: Temporarily gender dysphoric ie. they might get over it over the years, especially with going through puberty, growing up and finding themselves (sometimes it takes time for people to find themselves, especially if they have various problems). B: Persistently gender dysphoric ie. they'll always have some level of gender dysphoria, but they might learn to manage it, as people learn to manage all sorts of other things, without having to resort to surgery, hormones etc. C: Suffering from other conditions that mimic gender dysphoria. At least 2 of those 3, will be harmed by gender affirming care and puberty blockers and Corinne doesn't consider that, because of his tendency to self insert into everything. ... The road to hell is paved with good intentions and all of this is quite often the result of good intentions gone wrong. But I will point out that having gone from being unable to accept your body (ie. your sex) to being unable to accept your body (ie. being trans and thus not actually the sex/gender you identify as) is a zero improvement in body and self acceptance. Clearly a lot of these people aren't doing nearly as well as they think they are. Because if they were, they wouldn't be throwing tantrums over other people having a choice of sex separated spaces and sports, other people seeing gender and sex differently or having sex based sexualities. And there are trans people out there, that are fully cognizant about them not actually being a real woman or real man and are merely trying to treat their gender dysphoria, as best they can, who doesn't want to impose on anyone... And these trans people are quite tired of being associated with people like Corrinne here.

Ok, so this dude's argument for puberty blockers is this extremely painful procedure he underwent, however.. he definitely wasn't awake when it occurred and he fails to see two things- he chose to DO this to himself, it was not DONE to him, and secondly- if the young ones do get access to these blockers (while they're confused and naive, uneducated, not developed mentally nor physically) but then later, they regret it.. they'll still have to endure painful procedures and surgery. TBH a lot of those studios could trim a lot of fat, but I doubt they trimmed the right fat. I think Asmondgold put it well, this stuff is now replant for gamers due to basic human stereotyping. BioWare has been dead since Dragon Age: Inquisition. There is literally nobody there anymore who helped create the great games we know BioWare for. They were my favorite game studio but business is business. It’s basically an indie team given the BioWare name for recognition. If Andromeda wasn’t a Mass Effect game, it woulda been received a lot better than it was.

It wasn't the injection of topics i found problematic, it's the fact that the game never allowed me as a player to openly have my Rook challenge those views or topics, even just to see what would happen, and your choices when dealing with the petulent child named Taash, always boiled down to three flavors: 1: Wholeheartedly agree with everything they say! 2: Wholeheartedly agree with everything they say, but maybe fire off a lame joke on top. 3: Wholeheartedly agree with everything they say, but moan a bit about having to get involved.
