When driving, I felt low in the seat, the gearstick was (it seemed) high, liked the "console" but thought the air wipers needed updating. Pulled all right, was okay to drive, wide screen and panoramic view. Good, reliable motors, were AEC and these were comfortable (in their day) compared to other, older vehicles.

I remember going over to Lincoln and having a ride around the Brayford Pool on this, with Lincoln Ferrous Metals in the 1980s, when I did a sound recording of it. Cluitch had gone!

They used to have one of these as a yard shunter/spare unit at Nestles in Tutbury in the late 70s. My dad had to drive it down to Hayes occasionally when his EC10 was in dick. He absolutely hated it , the heater didn't work for a start.

Your right, the top half of the cab is the same as the Marathon, they also produced a later variant of this cab that was slightly higher, known as the High Datum model. Thanks for viewing.

Proper Lorry! I'd love to take that to a Just Stop Oil Protest, fumigate a few Snowflakes and hippies with it

It would do that, and leave them sat in a sea of oil. 😂

That could almost be an image of a MANDATOR coming off the end of track 2 at Southall. The only difference being that new vehicles were towed behind a tractor to the finishing-shop. I had a lift in one on a day when I needed to get to the other side of the Factory and was PRIVELEGED even if it was under Tow😇
