Welcome to the ham hobby. I'm a new ham myself. Did one of these for a ten-tec rig. But later on I just ran two receivers in unison that is an SDR radio and the Omni VI transceiver. Shared the antenna between both radios. Using an antenna switch from MFJ. 73's KD2ULF

Great video. I’ve just added a panadapter to my IC750Pro. SSB output is on USB no matter if CW/LSB selected on the radio. The software, SDRUno, appears to takeover filtration, so audio is best served via the computer.

I like the little FET circuit idea you used. Another way I have seen it done on how to get a low impedance signal from a tube receiver for a pan adapter is to take the signal off of the cathode instead of the plate. Not sure how well this would work on your Drake but I saw it done on a Hallicrafters SX-99 to an SDR with good results.

Congratulation's on receiving your license!!!! ki4fbl here in kentucky!!! I also frequent 40 meters as it is the quietest band at my qth. hope to hear you on the bands!!!!

Funny that I’m simulating a buffer for this purpose. I’m thinking about adding panadapter to all my 4 radios. For the TS590s I will tap the rx before the conversions. This week I tested (still without the buffer) the integration between the TS590s, Airspy hf+discovery, SDR console and N1MM (all together) the results were impressive!

Very nice. I tried this a few days ago and tried to wind a loop around the mixer tube into the RTL-SDR. And I could not hear a thing. I was able to use RTL-SDR with a Drake TR4 on 9 MhZ by wrapping a few loops around a 12B16 IF tube.

Welcome to ham radio Scott! And a tech guy with Drake radios, is really cool! I am really interested in your digital display on your Drake R4B receiver. I have the Drake T4XB as well, and a digital readout, would be something different for these old radios. Keep the videos coming, 73, de Karl/KO8S

I bought some perf boards and will try to duplicate your success on an R4B. I would like to really do noise elimination and listen on the computer audio. Again excellent video and thank you! All I have on MacOS is CubicSDR so I will try it with CUBIC SDR. I tried a capacitor off of Pin #5 of V2 tonight directly into an RTL-SDR an as you aptly noted - no joy and must be due to impedance as you had mentioned.... I did hear a little bit but the IF of the radio was totally dragged down and no audio from the radio. I do have some of those N-FET's on hand and will give it a try. Thank you.

Great job Scott! Welcome to the world of ham radio! I've been watching your channel for a long time, you got me hooked on the Xi8088 kit and I made a few videos about that

Very nice. :D Old radios are the best!! I am a fan of the Kenwood tube hybrids, myself.

Uh oh ... slippery slope! How long before a lattice tower goes up with a multi-band multi-element Yagi on top? I started simple but then the bug bit. A very useful add-on you have made there. I guess we will not be seeing anymore RC2014 developments from you, a pity. Have fun.

You can steal 12 volts from where the PTO gets 11 volts or so. Great Great video Scott...

Maybe you can make a impedance matching transformer to make the high impedance and low impedance more compatible.

Maybe a voltage divider off of the regulated 150 volts. That is how Drake usually does it.

Hi Scott. What is your new call sign? I am building your RC2014 boards during the winter break, and I have a Drake Twins pair in my shack :) I was shocked to see you post this. Very cool. 73, and good DX to you in the new cycle. -W9PDS
