Great video but I think you need to clarify that if one capacitor goes short it will also show all the other capacitors that are connected in parallel with it and therefore does not mean the IC is short, I am aware you know this but I think you need to clarify it for completeness
@electronicsrepairbasics_erb7 ай бұрын
Right
@alvarodelsolar79674 ай бұрын
Great, I was thinking about the same. So now how you will know which capacitor is short if only one is short it and/or the IC is short it? Thanks
@stephendennis78714 ай бұрын
The only positive way is to obtain the circuit drawing Andrew desolder and isolate one leg of the other capacitors that are connected in parallel one at a time and re-test until shorted capacitor becomes evident unless other know different
@alvarodelsolar79674 ай бұрын
Good to know, so first you find the group of capacitors that show a short, and then isolate one by one until you find which one is short it. In the case that none of them is short it, we can easy test if the IC is short it (most probably is short it) Thanks for your replied

there are so many shapes of capacitors and they sometimes look like diodes or smd inductors , it is necessary to watch several various motherboards to identify them , and edit a wall posters of all of them
