I would recommend googling that, like I just did to find this consise explanation: www.techni-tool.com/site/ARTICLE_LIBRARY/BK%20Precision%20-%20How%20to%20Use%20an%20LCR%20Meter.pdf Equivalent circuit: components are modeled with one of the two following equivalent circuits: where X is the reactance of the component, Rs is the series resistance, and Rp is the parallel resistance. If the reactance is large, the series resistance may be negligible, so the parallel model might be a better fit. Conversely, if the reactance is small, the parallel resistance may be negligible, so you may want to use the series model. Thus, the guideline would be to tend to use the parallel circuit model for small capacitors and the series model for large capacitors (see Figure 1).

Hi, where can I find the esr measurement when testing capacitors? It is the Q value? Thanks in advance...

I'm sorry. I mean the "D" value when testing capacitor? That value is the ESR?

If I buy smart tweezers,I won't be needing all those features,because I am just a kit builder,I need it to I'd parts and to see if there are working,I saw a set for $ 17.00,for me that should be enough for me. Good video

+onecreativecriminal Yes, take a look at the 5:06 point in the video. It can do ESR for inductors or capacitors, and the results were very similar to the measurements on my IED LCR DE-5000.

Corgitronics In your video at minute 5:06 and forward it only shows esr for inductance L, I cannot see any esr for capacitance C!

The DE-5000 is still available from Amazon and eBay
