The firmware upgrade v1.7 adds a data log, appended each time hold is pressed. Have a go at it 😊. Thanks for the in circuit demo and high resolution view of the internals. Your description of the diode function should help a lot of your viewers understand why it’s not so good at diodes. Zotek spelled incorrectly in the title.

I was just scrolling through various LCR tweezers yesterday, and then up pops your review. Perfect timing! Looks like a useful tool.

The PC board probes are pretty clever. I see they have the signal lead surrounded by shield traces. I wonder if they have an active guard as might be found on a high end meter? Over all this looks like a lot of function for the price and it looks surprisingly well made. My wishes would be to have a higher excitation voltage available and a higher test frequency at 100 KHz.

Thorough as usual Kerry. Mine arrived with an extra pair of tweezer tips as well. Nice gadget. Much better to use than the wired tweezers for my handheld lcr meter.

the screen-response seems tethered to selected frequency, atleats in some modes, but its more pronounce on the Fnirsi ST1., on MD1 it was only in a few modes. like continuity/buzzer, where you get way faster screen response with higher frequency selected.

TI44 IPDI looks to be INA826 opamp by TI. RS8552 should be Tokmas RS8552 opamp. And as mentioned bellow P113 should be TI PGA113.

The device measures inductance strangely - when the coil terminals are swapped, it shows different results.

The 10 pin VSSOP package chip is a TI PGA113 but I don't know what the TI44 labeled chip is.

Hi Kerry, thanks for the review, On the Capacitance display what does the D: display mean and would a high or low reading mean good or bad Cap?

D is the dissipation factor which is proportional to ESR. So for capacitors, the lower the dissipation factor the better.

It seems strange, and a great shame, that the diode detection doesn't work for standard diodes given that the 0.6Vrms range with its1.72V peak-peak / 0.86V peak should be ample. Perhaps it can be fixed in software; had it worked I would have ordered one already.
