I've always seen Splatsville as an impoverished part of the inner city (aka a hood) for several reasons: 1. The squid kids be skiving school all the time to do child labour like wtf. 2. The residential areas always remind me of a cramped eastern European block of flats that you would typically find in a hood. 3. Half the npcs in the splatsville look devious af like either they're high or want to sell me crack or something.
