Thank you for your review, which was very helpful. I've just ordered one of these to add to my Smeg milk frother, which is similarly eye-catching (and expensive of course). I'm slightly nervous about the toast firing off in all directions, but at least your tests didn't result in any samples on the kitchen floor. I am rather sceptical about some of the negative comments here - why for example would someone find the item "ugly" but buy it anyway?

Good question! I can definitively say, they are not ugly. As for toast landing on the floor, no on that as well. Smaller size bread slices (french bread) will pop out on the granite, though. But that won't ruin my day! 😆 Thanks for watching and your comment! 😍

Purchased this toaster 3 years ago, broke last week. No spares available to fix unit and the heating elements are very difficult to get at and fix. This toaster is of no better quality than toaster 25% of its price. You pay for the name.

I bought a SMEG toaster just over a year ago and it's broken. Only toaster one side. SMEG was no help. I do not recommend this product. It's a very expensive product, I expected more from SMEG.

I have the kettle and toaster, I have to say, they are so ugly, you battle to see the water level, as for the toaster, only 2 slice toaster, what a joke, paid R5999.00 in South Africa, this junk belongs in the trash can.

Looks like you paid double for the same product. Toaster has been okay for me so far but it's only been used a few months. I was thinking about purchasing the Smeg Coffee Maker but now I'm second guessing it! Thanks to your comment and comments of others. Why don't their products last longer?! Ugh!
