Dior Homme Intense 2020 has the same formula code that’s been used since late 2016 so the 2020 version isn’t reformulated. It’s just a different bottle but the same scent since late 2016.

l have just bought it and man, it makes me so happy smelling it. Yes, the more l wear it the more l like it. You can definitely feel the chocolate comparing to Dior Homme, but after drying up the Intense is not so sweet. Masterclass!

I ve got for testing both 2011 and 2020 version of Dior Homme Intense, and except for the bottle there is no difference, the same juice as 2011 version! Superb quality, superb buttery iris, vanilla, tonka, leather, smooth kinda cacao/chocolate vibe

I have a 2011 batch & tested it againt a 2020 batch I've just bought & you've nailed it on the head perfectly 👍🏾

Very diplomatic. What I gather is for new ones it's good but for those who have experienced the original it's nothing but watered down pricey version 😂

Found yesterday on a local perfumery of my city a bottle of DHI with the old packaging. Bought it and, after checking its batch code, found that its manufacture date is from October 2017, indeed a almost 4 years bottle lost on the shelves of that store...it has indeed the same formula number of the 2020 version i already have, but not only the colour of the juice it's different, but the iris note it's clearly more evident on the opening and has a more warm character. The 2020 DHI has clearly a more woodsy profile on his opening.

You are correct Dior homme intense original release 2011-2014 than reformulated 2014-2017 and reformulated again 2017-2019 and now 2020 reformulation do to the material available at the time raw/naturals in compliance with IFRA and skimping for more profit using cheaper synthetic raw material, I think the notes composition are all the same it all depends the quality of material use at the time hence why the original 2011-2014 packs the most punch i could be wrong tho

Smells awesome last very long but has zero projection. No one can smell this on me. Even though I average 15 to 16 sprays. Only I can smell it. I love the smell but wish other people could actually smell it

Definitely my favorite fragrance reviewer. Managed to bring sort of Russian poets depth to your perfume story telling, if that makes any sense. Adore your perception and inspiration. Sometimes it sounds like beautiful fairytale. ❤️ Now, since 2009 a Dior Homme edt was my, I could say signature scent. I’ve been a witness of first reformulation, although at that time , didn’t give much of a credit, but even then, with my inexperienced nose I was able to notice a slight difference. In a meantime, for a long period, I’ve been avoiding Dior Homme Intense, which regardless of sharing the same Dior Homme DNA, was to thick, dense and less wearable, and being edp concentration, had less freshness and initial projection. I got myself a bottle 2 years ago, wanted definitely to give it a try, but I’m still struggling to love it, instead of simply like it. Opening is fabulous, cozy, calming and seductive, but mid stage and dry down many times I hardly perceive, as if the juice is to dense and sticking to my skin. Same case with Givenchy Gentleman EDP. That’s why, I hope, the 2020 reformulation will eventually bring me more joy, regardless of longevity and projection. If I like a scent, everything close or above 4-5 hours mark for me is perfect. Where else, except on a job, will I demand 8-10-12 hours of fragrance life?! If this release fits somewhere between DH 2011 and DHI 2011 I’ll be more than happy. Thanks for another amazing review. 😊

DHI original is one of my all time favourites, but is very hard and expensive to get hold of now because it was so good and popular - The 2020 version is a slightly weaker, fresher and less intense version of the original.

I’m wearing DHI 2020 on my hand right now. I’ve owned it for a few months and have been testing it a lot. Largely I agree with your assessment, AC. It’s a slightly lighter version of my 2014 DHI but it retains the general spirit of DHI (I get that same gorgeous Iris when I spray it, the vanilla dry down is wonderful, super well blended). The performance is garbage, to put it bluntly. A skin scent within an hour and it actually is completely gone from my skin within 6-7 hours. If I spray it on me before bed and check it the next day I smell almost nothing. A shame - those first 60 minutes are still magic, though.

Well, I’ve purchased it and received 2020 batch although photo on site was for 2011. I love the scent too much and too tired of Dior’s destructive re-formulating habit to go down the rabbit hole of tracking down the previous formulation for the sake of the iris.

Certainly great to hear they didn't neuter this one too badly. But for me, the turning point was Sauvage edt. Joy edt gave supportive evidence and Dior Homme 2020 confirmed it - that after Homme Parfum, LVMH began 'the great purge' 🤣 Even nowadays it seems that designers everywhere are cutting the expensive mid notes and diverging into either citrus aromatics, synthetic amberwoods or vanillin-heavy gourmands. The surge of minimalistic 3-note fragrances was almost unheard of until a few years ago. Not a particularly hopeful trend, and suggests a radical shift in the industry's future towards consolidation and frugality. Can't blame them given the times we live in. Plus it's great to hear that perfumers are still working their magic, producing exceptional blends with new materials. But overall, my expectations have lowered significantly over the last decade. Where once we had giants, we now stand on the sandy dunes of monotony, clinging to the ideas of the fortuitous to prevent sinking into oblivion. ⌛

I think this one needs to mature in the bottle for it’s true character to come out, I remember doing this for EN A’lextreme (suggested by AC)
