To my nose Sultan Vetiver is better than every other vetiver fragrance I own, which are: 1. Route du Vetiver - Maitre Parfumer Et Gantier (previously my No. 1 vetiver fragrance) 2. Private Blend - Jovoy Paris 3. Vetiver Extraordinaire - Frederic Malle 4. Vetiver - Chistian Dior Privee Collection 5. Vetiver - Guerlain (both current and vintage forumulations) 6. Terre d'Hermes - Hermes 7. Grey Vetiver - Tom Ford 8. Mon Vetiver - Essential Parfums I don't really count Creed Original Vetiver, even though I own it, as a vetiver fragrance. To my nose it is a clean soapy scent that smells a lot like Mugler Cologne from Thierry Mugler. I cannot detect even a trace of vetiver in Creed Original Vetiver. I recommend that anyone who likes vetiver to sample Sultan Vetiver. Yes, it is expensive. Speaking for myself I don't mind the high cost so much if I feel the composition, the quality of ingredients, the complexity and development of the scent on skin over time, and the performance justifies the price. For me Sultan Vetiver was one of the easiest fragrance buying decisions I have ever made.

I LOVE vetiver. I have most of the heavy hitters. Sycomore, Grey Vetiver, Guerlain, all the Encre Noirs, Roja etc al. All of them are excellent. Not a bad fragrance in the bunch an I wear them all. I recently picked up Sultan Vetiver. It has blown me away. It literally takes the best of all Vetiver fragrances, amps up those qualities and blends them perfectly. 10/10 for me. Unbelievably it's now at discounters for more than reasonable prices. Hands down the best blind buy of the year, probably of all time. Vive le Vetiver!

Howdy mate!!! I just tested this out and had a few wearings for now. WOW, I thought this smells "younger" than Bel Ami Vetiver. I do have to say I like Bel Ami Vetiver better. This one feels very green and smells like garden greenery to me, reminds me of floral shops. Definetely much more wearable than I thought it was going to be. I thought the anise note is gonna make this smell like AZARRO pour homme but I was wrong. I mainly detect the watery floral vetiver and the dry down ambroxan/ambergris is addictive!! totally wearable in summer IMO.

@@ACSmellsGood Hacivat in my opinion is a better and brighter option to Aventus. It is more of a candied pineapple. Hacivat removes the smokiness from aventus and replaces it with a bright cedar, and then dries down to a great oakmoss scent instead of a musky ambergris like with the creed. Very enjoyable, pretty good performance.

Bloom were selling Nishane in UK for a few years , and the prices were quite good , but something happen ... As far as i know you can not buy Nishane in UK...i mean from a authorized dealer I do own full bottle of Fan Your Flames , Pasion Choco and a few small decants. I also own Vetevier Extrait but the vintage one , and i can tell is *MUCH* better than both Grey Vetiver EDT and EDP combined . SOTD is Fields of Rubus by Kerosene

The only way I think you can buy Nishane I believe is through Notino. What do you think of passion choco? Thanks for the tip on Vetiver Extrait, I will try and get a decant of the vintage formulation. Is there a way to get Kerosine samples ? You have really peaked my interest in that house. I have to sample their range and see which ones I like.

I recently picked up terre de Hermes intense vetiver and am really enjoying it. My local grey market retailer has a 50ml bottle of sultan vetiver going for about $70 Tempted to blind buy it given the price. I live in dubai where every niche and designer house has an outlet to try fragrances but Sadly Nishane doesn’t and no decant available here.... do you think I will like this ? Other scents I really enjoy are creed royal oud , Valentino uomo intense, acqua Di Parma colonia essenza/intensa/oud, eau sauvage parfum

Faheem, I don't think this is blind buy safe. All the choices you mentioned are very light and western style, this one is heavy!

Interesting review, thanks. Picked this up yesterday. It's very intriguing and not like anything else I've smelt really apart from Gurlain. Need to get to know it more before I make a judgement, but on first wearing there is not a single hint of synthetics or sweetness that most mainstream frags have, very natural. I prefer the opening of Gurlain as it seems fresher but the dry down is a bit powdery for me so overall I think I prefer this one. It softens and warms in the dry down, initially it's very grassy and earthy and natural smelling. Mysterious and gets the imagination going. Will enjoy getting to know this fragrance. 👍

Thank you Keith. Great observation, this smells very high quality. This according to me is the best Vetiver I own hands down, and it has at least 3 distinct Vetivers and you smell all of them.

It would definitely work, specially citruses. Personally, I don't layer much , because most of the time I am testing the fragrance I am planningh to review next. You would be surprised to know that most of the fragrance picks are dictated to by what I plan to test next LOLZ... challenges of being a reviewer.

Smells Good right there with you AC. I was a bit disappointed by FM VE-especially after sampling Sultan Vetiver. VE opening was decent, but became rather ordinary over time. I prefer the evolution and complexity of the Sultan!
