I am a huge fan of the SMERSH and I like that you guys are bringing out a NIR compliant version. The only thing that seems to be missing is the straps which run from the butt pack to the front of the rig along the wearers sides. I really like those straps and find it helps distribute the weight of the buttpack's contents better and makes the whole setup just more stable around you. Looks good guys!

Some corrections… Смерч is pronounced and written as smerCH. Not smerSH. The Russian letter for “sh” is ш. SmerCH is a word in and of itself, no need for the elaborate story. It means tornado. Feel free to consult with me going forward for Russian and Eastern European products.

we're currently discussing what's next for the smersh ecosystem, i think depending on how successful this one is (3 hours into the launch it has preformed really well) We'd be open to doing more niche variations or making pouches at least for those who want them.

oddly enough it makes sense either name - SmerCH generically means "Tornado" or "Whirlwind", so it's a generic name that could be very well used as a commercial denomination (there's Russian vests called Pioneer, Partizan, Otter, Bralette....Whirlwind is nothing special) - SmerSH, as contraction of "Smert Shpioniam", was the counterintelligence agency during WW2, that in 1946 would split between GRU (under Armed Forces' control) and newly formed MGB (that would later become KGB and the FSB/SVR). Given that the SmerSh agency was basically the originator of almost every modern special force, and the Smersh LBE is very prominent in use by special forces units all across the board in Russia (GRU, FSB, MVD etc), it might very well be a homage to the past....albeit on the other hand, homaging a Stalin-era organization was pretty taboo in Russia until recently

Lucky enough to have got some SSO made SMERSH long before Russia invaded ukraine, but a collab with Arktis is still HUGE. Fantastic, well thought of company among the British military. Gorkas were around in Airsoft games in Belgium in the mid 2000's and all the cool kids had Russian kits in the early/mid 2010. Somehow 5.45 and 762x39 are still around at a decent price in big quantities.
