Sorry man, I think it means that this recording respects the real dynamics of its musical content... (however through my MacBook speakers it sounds perfectly!) Maybe you use to listen to other type of Music, more modern and dynamically compressed, that don't need to rise the volume... Otherwise, I haven't yet understand what you mean... sorry again! ;)))

Of course: It's called "dynamics", or the difference between "pianissimo" (very low) and "fortissimo" (very strong). If you want to hear all at strong volume, so you destroy the meaning of dynamics and consequently you kill the living breath of Music! ;)
