I can't wait to see more of Niles. Just his personality and motives combined make him a great side character, and who knows: maybe now that he has a name, even an incentive to teach Melony to control her powers... is that an Arc I smell? probably not, I'm probably just getting ahead of myself. I do hope he becomes a permanent character who interacts with the rest of the cast at some point. Almost like Axol's badass replacement, in a way.

One thing I don't get is why nobody has been defending Melony from Niles, it's like only Melony is aware that he exists as he can do anything he wants to her and nobody else cares. Meggy could have defended Melony from Niles in this episode but she's mysteriously absent, it feels like Luke wrote Meggy and SMG4 out of this episode to prevent them from interfering with Melony and Niles.

This seemingly generic episode took an epic turn with the fight against some bears, including the host for the ongoing Winter Olympics (any fan of memes should know this reference). We see Melony tap into her Diety power once more, and we learn the identity of the mysterious bully. Niles may be a pain in the ass, but he might just be the mentor Melony needs to not only control her power, but to master it. It's the very reason she went to that crazy academy in the first place.

I really like Niles. I got his whole deal rather fast, trying to provoke and test Melony, and I can see him growing into the cast very nicely. Although I'll always miss Axol, I can see how him still being around would've hurt Melony's potential and possible growth and he wouldn't fit nicely into this arc either.
