Here is a perfect example of the butterfly effect. When Francis saw that Axol had the inkweaver, he was curious. You see, Boopkins didn't have to tell Francis it used *inkling* ink, but because he did, Francis captured all the inklings including Meggy, which eventually led to Desti's death. If Boopkins just told Francis that Axol had a magic pen, then Francis would not have gone looking for inklings in the first place. He would still have Axol's pen, but it would probably backfire on him because the anime he creates would be so weak. So if Boopkins had not told Francis it used *inkling* ink, then splatfest would have happened earlier, Meggy would be an inkling and Desti would be alive

We've seen Boopkins adores Meggy (in his own weird way) and he'd never have told Inkweaver's secret to Francis if he'd known how Francis would react… Also Axol's partly to blame too for refusing to draw Francis any waifus
