The best detail in this entire movie by far is that Callie and Marie didn't immediately leave after telling Meggy that the Ink Brigade cheated, they stayed the entire scene and participated in one of debatably Meggy's most emotional moments. It shows almost better than the games do that Callie and Marie are more than just idol singers, they're passionate girls who legitimately care about their community in Inkopolis. They also talked with enthusiasm as if they themselves believed Meggy could win without outright saying it and I think that's so sweet.

I have some things to say about this movie: - Okay, so that's how Meggy ended in the paint can - I couldn't help but laugh when Mario stated that his Ink Boi is a lawnmower after his head was destroyed, I also laughed when Luigi was so serious before he ran through that road with circular saws while screaming :] - I was surprised that Killer Ink's leader didn't have name - That moment when Axol said that Meggy never stopped being herself warmed my heart :) - Tari's Duck Substitute technique was awesome XD - I felt sorry for Boopkins being targeted as "donkey" - I cried when Meggy and Desti had their final conversation ;(... Thank you for making this movie. The movie was fun and also touching, just like SMG4's videos are. I really enjoyed watching this :).

My favorite part thus far is when Meggy falls on lava and instead of burning or get recued she bounces off Mario style

Desti started as the anti-hero that people likes back in "If Mario was in Splatoon 2", and she grew over time. Luke and Kevin were gonna put her in the waluigi arc but couldn't get a way to fit her in but they brought her back with the splatfest/anime arc, building her character and showing she cares more about battling and winning, and that can be seen throughout the anime arc, evidence being she was determined to find Meggy so they could have another round together. The two had strong heart-to-heart moments up till her death. After all this time, Desti and Meggy remembered their promise to each other and during the final round, Destis spirit can be found in Meggy as she battled. Each taught each other valuable lessons and the two built on each other heavily. Now that the Splatfest is done, theres no reason for her to be around anymore as the promise was fulfilled. But she isn't truly gone, as mentioned before her spirit still resides in Meggy. What we can hope for is a reference or two to Desti, but all-in-all, this was the sendoff to arguably the best anti-hero in the whole, show I guess we can call it now. These two had a LOT of firsts for the team: overlapping arcs, a major character death, strong mental health disorders (depression, anxiety, ptsd), and they did wonderfully on it. The Meggy/Desti story was a huge rollercoaster of emotion and I sincerely hope we get something like this in the future, but to me, this ends a chapter in the smg4 chronicles and opens the doors to endless possibilities of story telling, one of the things they wanted to improve on, character development, maybe a new character (though doubt it). Thank you Luke, Kevin, and all the others on the team that work at Glitch Studios that worked on this, for giving us the chance to live through the stories you tell through whatever shenanigans the characters go through. Looking forward to whatever you plan to do next.

I have to say, this movie actually made me cry. Desti just dying in the past and seeing how Meggy is still struggling till the end, I couldn't help but actually root for her. I loved her and how she is, and she really tried her best. When she said goodbye to Desti at the end? I actually started to tear up because I've grown to become attached to her, even when she died. I couldn't help but think that, even though she's gone, at least Meggy had fulfilled her promise and made it through the end. I can't wait for the next future episodes and movies, and the future arcs as well. But honestly? I love to see Axol and Meggy together. They both have potential, and care for each other so much. It's such a heart-warming movie that made me sob at the end of it.

This is the best story I’ve ever seen. The background, the set up and the execution was perfect. You guys even made me cry in the end because of how relatable it was to see Meggy’s journey. This here was truly a masterpiece in its own way. I experienced this in some way or another of keeping my promise to one of my shipmates back when I was in the USCG. We made a promise to keep moving forward and not giving up, in any situation. Unfortunately, i left shortly after and felt super terrible but after talking with my friend, that promise we made wasn’t for only in the military but in life. I kept thinking about that moment and we’re both doing great. SMG4, thanks for this and reminding myself about staying true to not only our promises but ourselves as people.
