The best detail in this entire movie by far is that Callie and Marie didn't immediately leave after telling Meggy that the Ink Brigade cheated, they stayed the entire scene and participated in one of debatably Meggy's most emotional moments. It shows almost better than the games do that Callie and Marie are more than just idol singers, they're passionate girls who legitimately care about their community in Inkopolis. They also talked with enthusiasm as if they themselves believed Meggy could win without outright saying it and I think that's so sweet.

I have to say, this movie actually made me cry. Desti just dying in the past and seeing how Meggy is still struggling till the end, I couldn't help but actually root for her. I loved her and how she is, and she really tried her best. When she said goodbye to Desti at the end? I actually started to tear up because I've grown to become attached to her, even when she died. I couldn't help but think that, even though she's gone, at least Meggy had fulfilled her promise and made it through the end. I can't wait for the next future episodes and movies, and the future arcs as well. But honestly? I love to see Axol and Meggy together. They both have potential, and care for each other so much. It's such a heart-warming movie that made me sob at the end of it.

This here was truly a masterpiece in its own way. I experienced this in some way or another of keeping my promise to one of my shipmates back when I was in the USCG. We made a promise to keep moving forward and not giving up, in any situation. Unfortunately, i left shortly after and felt super terrible but after talking with my friend, that promise we made wasn’t for only in the military but in life. I kept thinking about that moment and we’re both doing great. SMG4, thanks for this and reminding myself about staying true to not only our promises but ourselves as people. I noticed how Meggy went through the whole 5 stages of grief throughout this video: 1. Denial - didnt want to use the ink boii and said she is good without it 2. Anger - angry that everyone hates her for being human 3. Bargaining - Her inner inkling telling her she NEEDS the ink boi and trying to convince her to use it 4. Depression - losing the splatfest due to cheating 5. Acceptance - accepting she needs to use the ink boi in order to make her have a fair chance A cute and maybe not even intended detail

Not only does it feature a very well written story that honestly, I feel like is Oscar worthy it is the only movie that managed to make me shed a true tear and it isn't even made by Hollywood professionals that have been in the industry for years lol. Desti started as the anti-hero that people likes back in "If Mario was in Splatoon 2", and she grew over time. Luke and Kevin were gonna put her in the waluigi arc but couldn't get a way to fit her in but they brought her back with the splatfest/anime arc, building her character and showing she cares more about battling and winning, and that can be seen throughout the anime arc, evidence being she was determined to find Meggy so they could have another round together. The two had strong heart-to-heart moments up till her death. After all this time, Desti and Meggy remembered their promise to each other and during the final round, Destis spirit can be found in Meggy as she battled. Each taught each other valuable lessons and the two built on each other heavily. Now that the Splatfest is done, theres no reason for her to be around anymore as the promise was fulfilled. But she isn't truly gone, as mentioned before her spirit still resides in Meggy. What we can hope for is a reference or two to Desti, but all-in-all, this was the sendoff to arguably the best anti-hero in the whole, show I guess we can call it now. These two had a LOT of firsts for the team: overlapping arcs, a major character death, strong mental health disorders (depression, anxiety, ptsd), and they did wonderfully on it. The Meggy/Desti story was a huge rollercoaster of emotion and I sincerely hope we get something like this in the future, but to me, this ends a chapter in the smg4 chronicles and opens the doors to endless possibilities of story telling, one of the things they wanted to improve on, character development, maybe a new character (though doubt it). Thank you Luke, Kevin, and all the others on the team that work at Glitch Studios that worked on this, for giving us the chance to live through the stories you tell through whatever shenanigans the characters go through. Looking forward to whatever you plan to do next.
