The Genesis arc on the other hand is arguably the darkest arc as it was a full on horror story with a lot more darker themes and an eldritch abomination that is the epitome of "vile villain, saccharine show"

Theory on why zero is like this and what happened to him: Each universe is supposed to have 2 smgs and an avatar, zero is from a special universe since he is the only smg there so to fill in the gap they put that eye there, it sounds like zero as well, one day that eye corrupted zero turning him into that and he killed the avatar in his universe and then moved on to other universes

@@silverflight01 The funny thing is, I think the SMG4 cast (firstly Mario, ironically,) realizes they're a part of some sort of game. As in they're LIVING in the game. That emulator search towards the end is possible evidence of that. And now the initial virus- SMG0, is back (for some unknown reason that I really want to know!) to claim what he think was rightfully to be dead- SMG1 - 4, as well as claiming whatever else is on the computer Mario and co. is in. That means Mario himself- the most stupidest character in the client, but the most important factor for the client to function as a whole... and if Zero takes him... everything... is done for... but, that's the obvious bit. Plus, I might be thinking too much into this for what seems to be a shitposter channel. But it's because of what Luke and Kevin made possible is the reason why I still watch their content.

I'm pretty sure the ToyToy gang have the darkest backstory in the entire series. Spudnick and Smg2 were probably small children when this happened (Smg1 was most likely an adult with his voice), and since SMGs presumably don't age, Smg2 has to deal with the pressure of being one of the only people that can defeat Zero, while having the brain and shattered innocence of a child. (He has some lines that show that he's mentally matured to some degree so he isn't as dumb as he sounds). Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Me trying to explain SMG4 lore again: (before watching the second half of Genesis Arc): Spudnick was the avatar of SMG2, SMG1, the Newgrounds characters, the Toytoy Kingdom and its universe (Spudnick's Great Adventure). The three were close friends to each other. Until one day, SMG0's USB arrived at Toytoy Kingdom. SMG0 came out of the USB and drained Spudnick's life, which partly ruined SMG2 and SMG1 and made the universe started to collapse. SMG1 tried to distract SMG0, while SMG2 escort everyone else to his USB. When everyone was in the USB, SMG0 tried to drain SMG2's life but SMG1 enable anti-virus mode of SMG0's USB and trapped SMG0 in it. However, a hand was released and went after SMG2 and SMG1 into their USB. Someone in real life found out that "Spudnick's Great Adventure" was glitched and corrupted, so he removed SMG1 and SMG2's USB and plugged it in (presumably) a "Super Mario 64" emulator. In the emulator (aka Mushroom Kingdom with its universe), SMG2 and SMG1's USB was landing on the ground, it became shaky due to a fight against SMG0's hand in it, and it shot out three "gltichy" projectiles. Stimutaneosly, SMG4's USB didn't got hit, while SMG3's USB teleported to the Internet Graveyard and a projectile hit it and teleported it back to Mushroom Kingdom. SMG1 and SMG2's USB ended up in the undergrounds of Mount Brazil, in where the former citizens of Toytoy kingdom currently reside. SMG4's USB started to shoot out rays of retardness and turned a lot of people into retards, including Mario - the avatar of Mushroom Kingdom - and SMG4 came out of his USB. He has started to make memes from the retardness of Mushroom Kingdom since then. Also, he became nemesis with SMG3 after teasing him. One day, SMG4 found that there were too much retardness in the kingdom so he and Mario threw the USB down the Dark Web. For the next 10 years, SMG2 and SMG1's location was unknown until a few days before Meggy Spletzer started her vacation, when they appeared in a Japanese restaurant "worshipping" SMG4. Meanwhile, Mario and SMG4 had gone through such wacky and retarded adventures, made new friends along the way, including Bob Bobowski, Axol and Melony. During that time, SMG3 formed his own Anti-cast in order to delete SMG4, his friends and Susan Wojcicki. However, with the help of Mario and Susan, SMG3 got banished to thee Internet Graveyard, where he discovered about the Meme Life Cycle and started to take care of the dead memes. One day, SMG4 and SMG3 realised they didn't remember their origins, so the Elder Memes (that's how they're called?) gave them memories, the earliest of which was when SMG4 and SMG3 arrived at the Mushroom Kingdom. In the 10 year anniversary video, SMG4, SMG3 (who was invited to SMG4's party along with the dead memes) and Mario were kidnapped by corrupted dead memes and were brought to the Dark Web, where SMG0 tried to drain Mario's life and torture SMG4 and SMG3. SMG2 , SMG1 and friends came to rescue them by throwing SMG3's USB with enabled antivirus mode at SMG0. A black hole was formed, sucked SMG2 and SMG1 in and ended with an explosion. Mario, SMG4, SMG3 and friends (except Meggy, as she was on vacation) were safe and sound. However, the antivirus subscription on SMG3's USB didn't last forever, and an eye of SMG0 came out of the USB, stalking SMG4, Mario and his friends As a request by SMG2, SMG4 embarked on an adventure with Mario, Bob, Axol and Melony to the Dark Web, in search for his USB. In there, he gained memory about SMG2 and SMG1's USB crasing into Mount Brazil. Beacuse of that, he and Mario took on a golf competition by a fork character named Jeeves to win two tickets to Brazil. In the undergrounds of Mount Brazil, they discovered not only the former residents of Toytoy Kingdom, but also SMG2 and SMG1's USB. In the USB, Mario and SMG4 learned about "Spudnick's Great Adventure", Spudnick's death, what happened to SMG0 and why SMG2, SMG1 and the citizens flew to Mushroom Kingdom. I wonder if the Power of Rejection Waluigi used has something to do with all this... In the universe of SMG4, relevance seems to be a big deal. If you get no attention and love, you either wallow in it, or become bitter and are filled with a strange power. When dead memes remain in the Mushroom Kingdom, alive but neglected and uncared for, they become corrupted, gaining a strange power, which can make them like gods. When Waluigi felt like he was unloved and rejected by the world, he gained a similar godlike power, though it affected him differently. What if the same thing happened to SMG0, and because he was a Guardian(whatever that is), he became powerful enough to destroy his universe completely? What if in the Toytoy Kingdom, they basically had their own Waluigi arc... where their 'Waluigi' won? The Power of Rejection could explain why memeing dead memes reverts corruption; they're being 'accepted', like Waluigi was.

that's what you don't understand, this is via "universal" means, it doesn't really matter. You need to think of it outside the box You could consider SMG0 like a virus that corrupts a game and removes all textures and avatars SMG4 is technically an avatar created from mario. If mario's files are deleted, SMG4 and everything from the game wouldn't really make sense or even work since mario is the main character. Try to play SM64 without mario you'll see what i mean xD
