although Obi-Wan show was bad I can't tell you how much more I screamed at the acolyte for breaking timeline continuity, ignoring the plagueis novel, changing kyber crystal bleeding, cortosis being overused, and Osha and Mae not being able to pick a side to save their lives. Plus it was the Wish version of TPM.

The Plagueis novel is legends though. I've heard it's brilliant but that doesn't really bother any new canon media most of the time.

If anything, it ties in nicely to the Plagueis novel. I haven't seen the show but I've seen the clip of Plagueis hiding in a cave, which compliments the opening chapter of the book with Tenebrous and Plagueis in the cave together, considering The Acolyte happens in 132 BBY, and the novel happens in 67 BBY. Also, I recommend watching the Patterson cut if you haven't already because not only does it turn the series into a movie but edits and subsequently fixes alot of problems you and Eli probably have with the series.

I don't know if Kenobi was that bad honestly. Killing Vader was not going to stop the Empire in the long run. And even then i doubt he ever actually wanted to kill him even if he "got a second chance" If anything it serves as a what if scenario... -Bobba was almost Jabba like in his own series. -The kid show is an abomination that no children should watch -And everyone hates the Acolyte.

Old Republic era stories are so easy to get right. Look at the story of Revan. If they had gone the direction of KOTOR instead of unlikeable sith assassin then it might have been better received.

That is what made it so terrible they were not hamstrung by lore around it they had endless possibilities and messed it up so completely, most star wars fans were begging for old and or high republic content and they got it wrong to such an extent that we don't want them anywhere near that era now

Actually, Ki Adi Mundi and the other Jedi thought it was a dark Jedi. They had no knowledge of the Sith’s continued existence. Still a bad show though, I just wanted to set the record straight.

@@DJSerpent I have to disagree, 2D and CG are both good for different reasons and something hand animated like 2003 would've taken much longer than CG. CG can absolutely look just as good if not better than 2D in some cases (Spiderverse). 2D is just a much more hands on and costly approach, that being said there are still multiple reasons why you'd rather work in 2D. Puppet rigs are a good middleground between the two, it has the same feel as 3D while being able to keep the appeal of 2D.

I HIGHLY agree, my older sister and I grew up with that mini series!! X3 Each episode put us in awe with each episode having it's own story, minor characters from the jedi counsel that we saw in the films being fleshed out more, the pacing, the action, storytelling, and writing was a pure masterpiece! I love Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars animated series then and I still love it to this day! And will always be my favorite Star Wars show! ;D

I'm not ranking it at the top, but I really liked Ahsoka. I think everything said in this video was entirely relevant, but I'm still a fan. It gave us cool characters like Baylan Skoll and Marrok (though the inquisitor's development was very short, I liked seeing him get destroyed by Ahsoka). I'm more of a REBELS fan than a clone wars fan, so it's not the Anakin episode saving it for me, it's actually the ending. The fight in the Nightsister's tower reminded me of the Old Republic, Thrawn was fairly well portrayed (his tactical genius isn't well enough done in REBELS either), and I loved the scene where Ezra picks up the comlink and pretends to be an Imperial. Classic Ezra move.

bringing back old characters is not bad the problem is when it relies on just their appearance. look at movies 7,8,9 the majority of the plot is just comes from old characters and the entire premise around those movies is just having those characters exist. Solo is another example where yes it doesn't have the exact actors but relies on young versions of named characters that we know and love. Take the book of Boba Fett with Cade Bane. His entire point of being there was so that they didn't have to develop another character and just played off his old exploits. Then just have him show up for 7 minutes of screen time shoot 7 blaster bolts say something and get stabbed coming from a character that has infiltrated the Jedi temple, kidnapped multiple senators, and defeated some of the best combat Jedi in hand to hand combat. This role could've been filled by any randomly made bounty hunter. But no they go with a known one that's going to instantly strike fear just to have him stabbed and die and not really do anything. Whereas you look at the Mandalorian season 2 with Luke appearing. There was a reason for him to be there and he did something when he was there. The overall screen time was low and they used his appearance to its max effectiveness. Again bringing back old characters is not bad it's just bad when they're only role is to appear.

Just finished watching Andor myself and really loved it! Sure some parts were slow but I don't think that's a problem at all. I enjoy when they take time to develop the story and characters and focus on the smaller details. Building up to great heights from lower stakes is often more fun and interesting to me than riding a high the whole way. I like to learn about the way the Empire affects ordinary people's everyday lives, how they think and what they do about it. What both sides do about it. Teasing new revelations and taking time to let us think is valuable. Focusing on more relateable, touchable moments and encounters is a bit different for Star Wars and thats great. A bit grittier and nuanced as you say. A bit of a twist on the star wars formula but that's what I'd expect from a TV show rather than the classic film experience. It's an interesting topic and deserves a little different of an approach to the regular style. Haven't watched a lot of the other stuff like BoBF, Acolyte, Kenobi, Ahsoka since i heard they werent good. I'll probably watch kenobi for the classic characters. I enjoyed the first two mandalorian seasons a lot and love the clone wars as well.

Sabine has canonically trained with Ashoka in the past, before the Ashoka show. She’s not “just picking up” the force. The kill power of lightsabers is stupid, I agree, but I also think that the whole live action rebels cast was pretty good.

Oh, and the fact that she's not actually using the Force to deflect/block blaster bolts with her back turned either, as is claimed in the video. She's got Mandalorian armour that gives her protection from them. It's not until the end that she successfully uses the Force. Mind you, when did Ahsoka even know Sabine was Force sensitive?

She's not a novice. And again, she trained with Ahsoka for years, not just a few days. LUKE trained for a few days, maybe a few weeks at most with Yoda and could take on Darth Vader. Sabine trained for years with the incredibly skilled apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, and performed a force push, and people go ape shit. Shut up.

I agree with everything you've said except for the fact that I love the Obi-Wan show and forgive it for it's imperfections. I've watched it twice. It didn't ruin ROTS or ANH for me at all. Idk why. I just love seeing Leia and Obi-wan and Bail and Vader and Owen and Anakin and aaaah I love it. Not even Reva getting so much attention bothers me because a villain should be fleshed out and botherssome. only things that bother me are grand inquisitor not looking like his species should, and the two times that a person survives a stab wound to the gut. Oh also I liked mano season 3. In my mind the two episodes in BOBF with Mando are included as "Mando season 3" cause, yes, it dosen't make sense without them.

Rebels was great I’d put it in A- to B+ depending on if you grew up with it. I’d guess where’d you put Ashoka also would depend on this I liked Ashoka because of Rebels but I could also understand why someone wouldn’t like it as much. Also I’d put Obi-Wan in C or D solely because of Ewan and Hayden reprising their roles again.

I will say, the Grand Inquisitor being stabbed by Reva and living makes more sense than Sabine being stabbed by Shin does. This is because Pau'ans have 2 stomachs, meaning they could definitely survive being stabbed through one of them if given proper care

I've heard that take before, and honestly I'm cool with it. But the vast majority of fans don't know that about Pau'ans, so if that's what Disney was going for, we could've gotten an explanation within the show. If they can't do that, then don't bother trying to "kill" the Grand Inquisitor.

I agree with you on some things for Kenobi, the fights with Vader should not have happened, and you are right he and Leia should not have met. But I did like it a lot more than the Acolyte. Replace Vader with Maule and maybe it is better. And get rid of the inquisitors. Please just get rid of them. Siddious did not even want Ventrus around, so why would he want some former Jedi being his search and destroy team. That is what Vader was supposed to be.

Andor is an easy S+. Honestly with Nostalgia glasses off, I don't think Clone Wars is actually S-tier, it's so inconsistent and kinda dumb repeatedly. But I'm a bit extreme there, it's A. It does its job great which is be a children-to-young-adult's show. But it pulls its punch and backs off of actually portraying any complexity and abandons killing Ahsoka, which was needed for the story. I am going to be pretty transgressive and say: If you removed Episode 3 from Acolyte, it's a C-D tier. It's not honestly that bad. It's cute, it does a lot I like. TBH its biggest issue is the May/Osha are straight up not interesting characters who feel like they were not portrayed particularly well, I dunno if its the inconsistent director, the actor, or the writing, but they just don't sell it. But I may also have Tynnan Bias. Master Sol's *absolutely wonderful* portrayal saves it from any F-tier for me, though. It's bad. But its inoffensively bad. It should not even have had an episode 3 as it brought no value to the series that wasn't better covered later. It also needed to not pretend it was a mystery every episode. But my actual biggest loser of Star Wars TV series' is.... The lost Live Action segments of the Droids and Ewoks Power Hou--no WTF of course not. I think Its Book of Boba Fett. Kenobi wasn't good, it was awful. It was actually stupid. But it at least was enjoyable in that 'this is a dumb TV special I could see in the 80s' sort of way. It would be regarded as noncanon by the fans no matter what Lucas said, or 'dubiously canon' and that'd be it. Book of Boba Fett misunderstands every character, ruins a story that was already told better, damages every series around it, damages itself, kills any impact the New Republic era had, and retroactively made the entire overarching plot of debatably the two best star wars seasons of a show ever prior to it build up to something completely and wholly stupid.

2:50 you have to keep in mind that there is a ~15 year jump between rebels and ahsoka. A 30 year old isn't going to act the same as when they were 15. People change and mature. That being said. I do not like the characterization of the Ahsoka show. Sabine acts waaaaay different from the end (scene) of rebels in Ahsoka (which takes place at the same time, the scene is *in* Ahsoka too) Next: Ahsoka. Ahsoka was, at some points in Rebels, stoic, but that wasn't her whole character. Ahsoka in the titular show is only ever stoic. Rosario Dawson's acting is stiffer than a dead body. Overall Ahsoka is pretty lifeless in her own show Ezra: Ezra is the only one that you can really justify being characterized differently. He was isolated with monks (farmers???) for 15ish years. And as I said before a 30 year old is not going to act the same as when they were 15. I personally would'v played into the loneliness aspect of being isolated for 15 years and have him be overwhelmed when he sees Sabine instead of him saying the oh so relatable line of "tOoK YoU LoNg EnOUgH". TL;DR there are justifications as to why the characters in Ahsoka act differently than they do in rebels, I still hate it tho

I feel that The Bad Batch would’ve done better if is was more of a sequel show to Clone Wars, maybe something like “Tales of The Clones”. It would have been able to have separate arcs with Rex and the Clone Rebellion, the Senate debating clone rights and senators to know like Bale and Chuchi dealing with the new Empire, the Empire taking over Ryloth and seeing Hera’s backstory, Crosshair seeing how the Empire is treating clones, ect. Just like Clone Wars did with Anakin, ObiWan and Ahsoka, the Bad Batch could’ve been the main characters for the over arching plot of the Empire wanting to use Omega for Project Necromancer. I feel that, with how the show is now, the cameos and focuses on other characters takes us out of it because it’s supposed to be The Bad Batch’s show so the writers throw the batch into random stories that they really shouldn’t be involved in. But if we as an audience had been expecting more clone wars style story telling and episode/arc structure, and the writers had gone that direction, it would’ve been better framed. That way, the filler episodes would feel less like necessary viewing and something for “for the kids” like a handful of Clone Wars episodes were throughout the seasons.

I liked acolyte. I like when star wars has stories not connected to the main overarching one and the show delivered for me. It held my attention from beginning to end. Imo the pacing and characters were fine. Also did not predict the dark jedi being who it was. Thought it was gonna be that second witch character. They gave a hint that from my perspective alluded to that. Also think the show did the whole "twins swapping places and being confused by other people" trope right. Thought that would bother me but it didnt. Main thing that bothered me is I did not like the bad guy helmet. Made him look like The Batman who Laughs.

I really liked the Kenobi show. And I personally think the shaky cameras was a good detail to show the instability of the environment and violence in the battle and relationship of the two of them. Is it the best? No. Is it S tier? No. But it was far better than the other shows. I also found Andor quite boring. It seemed really slow in developing the plot and cliche with him (I forgot his name) trying to find his sister. But. Everyone has their own opinion so I won’t argue too much.
