Alan Peters yea instead of getting rid of certain tracks they figured they could make the racing better. I guess by making anything over a mile like Daytona and dega. Smh. They might as well all be driving governed karts at the fun park. It's hard to watch but old habits are hard to break. lol. I pray they get these things up off the ground before 2020.

Yea dumb move as usual by NASCAR. Drivers have told them for years that they want less downforce....so of coarse NASCAR does the complete opposite and adds a shit ton

@@pettymike45 my biggest issue is castrating the cars down to 550hp and most of the drivers hate it also they complain there's no throttle response just an example at the big tracks like Pocono where they once did 200-210 into turn one they're only doing about 180 this year it's sad it doesn't push their skill level as driver any little rich boy that can afford a car can get in the series pretty much and now you don't have to work your way in Drive the Xfinity or Truck Series for a year maybe, the cars sound like little small block 289s or something they have no rumble or balls now i could go on and on.this is supposed to be the top tier of American motorsports .........bullshit

@@badmonkey2222 It was all done to cater to Toyota. Toyota was very close to leaving the sport in 2015 when it was apparent they could not compete with good old fashioned American hp. They thought they could just throw money at NASCAR and compete against generations of engine builders in these stock car race cars. They got their butts kicked at 900 hp. Make a few BIG changes to the cars, and voila! Toyota stars winning races and revinvests in its race program. The toyotas now have an obvious yaw advantage at lower hp. Their drivers are able to easily carry heavier tire loads into the corners as the air helps turn the car. Basically, the Toyota cuts the corners much better then the Chevy or Ford. And with hp reduced, the other brands are effectively neutered, unable to find that speed the Toyota enjoys in the yaw of the car. As a result, mechanical grip is everything now. It sucks but NASCAR is desperate for manufacturer money. Who cares if they alienated the hard core GENERATIONAL fan? How many huge sponsors continue to walk away? Think about it. Joe Gbbs is really the only Toyota team. Chevrolet and Ford are moving away from cars and NASCAR as a viable form of marketing in a shrinking business model. The sport is on its last legs. It's sad how pathetic it is now. The days of Petty v Pearson and Earnhardt v Gordon are LONG, LONG gone. I love watching the old races and remembering some of the great experiences I had,though. Watching chronologically ive noticed 2 consistent things about the #24….1. Its always one of the 2 fastest on track….2. the car is never right according to its driver and crew chief
