Smile 2 (2024) (Movie Review)

We literally just finished watching Smile 2, came on to KZbin to watch an explained video. Before I even searched your vid was the first one on my Subscriptions landing page. Spooky 😊 I wasn’t keen on Smile and liked 2 even less. My daughter liked 1 but wasn’t keen on 2. There were a few good bits, but agreed - too long, and we were quite bored by the end. I liked Smile a lot. Smile 2 had a tough tale to tell since the exact situation was being filmed but with a different person going through the same thing. So, yes, it’s not as easy to make it original and because we basically know already what is going to happen, there isn’t much excitement. I loved the acting but it was a known plot. The opening sequence was the best. I’ll be interested to see what they’ll do if they make Smile 3. Speaking about Smiles, the cat was cute, made me smile.

Very glad my girl Willow made you smile. She's such a sweet and cuddly cat. Great point about it hard for the movie to seem exciting because we already know what is happening. So true.

I think we had similar thoughts on this one in regards to pacing and story. Overall well shot with good choreography and gore. Instead of BLACK SWAN, which was a good call out, I was reminded of PERFECT BLUE. Both Swan and Blue are in a higher league than smile 2.

Good comparison with Perfect Blue. Such an underrated film.

I really liked the dance troupe stuff, but yeah a little too long. Ultimately I went the other way and was won over by the ending. Also Hi Willow!

I hated the first smile the ethical problems everywhere annoyed the heck out of me. Smile 2 I think may be my favorite film of 2024. There are some irks but for the most part I liked it. No one was more surprised than I was considering how much I HATED the first lol

Very surprising that you like it that much after not liking the first one. Really goes to show that it''s worth giving movies a try, even if you think you won't like them.

Why tf did they feature the water so much hahahahaha. The show tracker features a GMC pickup and it feels like smile 2 pushing the water bahahaha

I was kind of annoyed with the water. We don't need to watch someone chug water. I can do that on my own.
