Forgot, he also composed "This is my song" another classic. So he wrote, acted, directed, produced and did the scores of multiple films, making him the ONLY master of cinema ever. No one person has ever done that on a film.

No momento eu estou emocionada, lágrimas escorrendo.

I love the part when he talks about oona, The silver starting to shine through her hair and through all the year's he has been married to her she bought him happiness to feeling young again, and the way he holds her hand as if never wanting to let go, At the end of his talking interview; when finished they walk of with her supporting him as he did with her through all there year's; he found his true love and happiness till his death with her beside him still holding his hand,NOW thats what I call love for eternity, rest in peace Charlie and oona hopefully your together amen,💖💖💖💖🌈🌸🌹

@Eszra Falcontail You are wrong! He would not be in prison today. She was 18 when they wed and they were married for 34 years, and by all accounts had a very happy marriage. Charlie had 3 wives before her. His last wife was Paulette Goddard. He was wed to her for a long time and she was the one who wanted out of the marriage from all that I have read about them. They was no bitterness between. She always spoke well of him if ask about him. Romance? Ok, I will speak for myself. 34 years wed and happily so by all accounts. Yes that is romance! Her friends said that even though she lived for 14 years after him, she died the day he did.

Eszra Falcotail. Yes it was an "unconventional romance" ,but, Oona was a world renowned socialite, intelligent, charming, and beautiful. Certainly not a child. She CHOSE to marry Chaplin amongst many other suitors. They had a glorious long marriage and many children. For those of you who only want to hate in the posts just try to keep your comments to yourself.

@@memethingz6004 By all accounts and everything I have read about them. They truly loved each other and that is all that really counts in this world. She was 18 when they met and he was 53. I do not think he was looking for her and she was not looking for him. They met and married and had 34 happy years and 8 children before his passing. I don't think you can say anything bad about him or her. People today whether the same age or May-December are lucky if they get a 1 of happiness together.

@@memethingz6004 Its called biology. Older men need younger women in order to procreate. Menopause is unmerciful is it not. Also 18 year olds are not kids. Society says so. No one gets to judge other people's intentions when it comes to love and romance. Adults make their own decisions. She had lots of other options and chose Charlie.

TCM just ran some Chaplin movies and I had a little time to watch some of them. The credits were given on some, possibly all of them and I am amazed how much he undertook. Often writing directing, and scoring much of this. There is a genius in what he did. His Tramp character can still hold up IMO. Genius may be too little a compliment.

Tiveram 8 filhos.

Sorry but you're wrong about his politics. He was NOT a communist, or communist sympathizer. That assertion was based on him getting invited, along with other celebrities to a meeting where the speaker himself was communist, not Charlie Chaplin

@@thomasposey1757 he was at the very least a communist sympathizer if not a small c communist himself. He was sympathetic to the Soviet Union and did fundraisers on their behalf, had Soviet friends, meet at least one communist themed movie and openly protested about Communist party members being investigated by Congress.

Warren Beatty made "Reds" and had Russian friends and also donated money to Russian causes . He's certainly no communist .Even I have several Russian friends , and have a great affinity for Russian literature ,I work as a private tennis coach in Russia , certainly no communist . I'm just making the point a person can have work that involves another country , have a fondness for the people , the culture , their rich history and struggle, while still maintaining a belief in capitalism and being full blooded American . Charlie himself said he was an " Internationalist" basically a citizen of the world ., But foremost an Englishmen . Dozens of his friends have gone on the record to repudiate the claim he was a communist , but , a sympathizer yes . As we all are .

@@thomasposey1757 well that's what I was saying about him being a communist sympathizer, but no way in hell that we all are! I'm firmly anti-communist as are probably most Americans. Warren Beatty however was a total commie and that's part of the reason he made that communist propaganda movie Reds.

@@tedmccarron All I can say is the people who knew him best , which is not either of us , said he wasn't . Also he worked in America for over 40 years under a capitalistic system which is a very anti communist thing to do if you're a communist . In the same way I sympathize w the plight of minorites in America , while not being one myself , he did the same thing w Russia . The main reason he was barred re entry back to America was not because of his party affiliation , it was due to his issues w women . Which I can't defend or condone .
