Well done. Ed Motta has so many good basslines! I'm glad you discovered him. His uncle, Tim Maia, was even more famous in brazil and also has some incredible grooves!

@@BassCovers Oh man , there are so many it's hard to decide. Some of my favorites of his are on the double album he released called Racional in 1976. He had joined a cult and gotten sober when he made that double album. It was some trippy stuff but not his most popular in Brazil. 'Do leme Ao Pontal' is like an anthem in Rio. Great groove. He did some songs in English too, one called 'Brother Father Mother Sister' has an amazing bass line.

Spectacular, beautiful! I recommend you listen and add to your music list to adopt the same procedure as you do in the songs, (Ivete Sangalo - Abalou and Acelera Aê). This bassist is a reference here in Brazil. Search for the studio version for these two sounds. Thanks.

Hello Greg, as a total beginer on bass guitar I find you to be an educated Phd in Bass music plying. So far I am strugling to get a grasp on this masterpiece, I ask myself how do you perfect the vibrato at B7 chord segment and get the sound so smooth ?
@BassCovers2 жыл бұрын
Hello Avigdor, thank you for the comment and question. The A on the B7 chord is either a "shake' or a "trill". You can decide which feels and sounds best for you. I have to tell you though, if you're only a total beginner on the bass, this song was too advanced. You should pick something easier and work your way up. I fear you may be spending valuable time and energy on something this is far above your skill level. Small steps....thanks :)
