Smile training | Michael Angelo Caruso demonstrates 4 types of smiles for leaders
A good, natural smile is a sign of confidence and comfort. It's an expression that can set people at ease and set the stage for good things to come.
Michael demonstrates 4 different types of smiles:
1. The crinkle.
Just squint your eyes lightly to until the crow's feet appear in the outside corners of your eyes. Do this right and you'll be smiling with your eyes, not your mouth.
2. Put your eyebrows to work.
Raising your eyebrows opens up your expression like a crowbar. Raised brows are an old acting trick to insert emotion into a scene.
3. Two-tooth smile, Four-tooth smile, Six-tooth smile.
The more you smile, the more teeth you show. The six-tooth smile is borrowed from dentists and orthodontists who refer to "the social six" as the six teeth in the center of the mouth just behind your top lip.
4. No teeth smile.
Keep your lips together and smile as big as you can.
Combine any kind of smile with a head nod and others will be drawn to you in the business world and in your personal life.
This video was recorded at a leadership session for Rose Solutions, which is based in Troy, Michigan.
