@@lucabarredo2915 Smiling Friends is a show about a couple of workers whose job is to simply make people smile. The plot of this episode was about their rivals: a business who want to make people frown. Throughout the episode their ideals were shown to be more powerful until the very end where it was revealed that the people in charge were just sad and pathetic losers who just want to make people as miserable as they. Every adult animated sitcom nowadays has to be as cynical as possible not because it's innovative or thought provoking but because it's cool. Rick and Morty started it and lately that's all their humor has been coming down to (admittedly it has been getting better, but the damage was already done). People were lead to believe that cynicism=funny when in all actuality, it's just lazy (similar to how the FF keep saying you shouldn't better your life because it's easier). Smiling Friends however is the most optimistic show in years and its way better than 90% of most adult animated sitcoms nowadays.

I like that this show has a very balanced commentary on mental health and social anxiety. With Desmond, the message is that a lot of suicidal people don’t really get what they need, but are still pressured to be happy without addressing those issues. But here, it shows how someone else might handle it, by trying to take that depression out on the world and using it as an excuse to do shitty things. Having a show that can discuss nuanced topics like this, while also being really funny and having an overall positive message, is super refreshing.

The other 2% are a mixture of extreme narcissists who can’t cope with the idea that anyone else has any meaning (thus they assign themselves arbitrary intelligence by choosing to believe in a “hard truth”) and people who just want to be edgy and contrarian to feel special. It’s a sham and don’t trust anyone who says it isn’t, they’re only trying to recruit you because misery loves company and they are reliant on some form of external validation. The amount of detail and effort going into literally everything about guns in this show is amazing tbh. They could've just drawn generic guns and had the characters do all sorts of nonsense with them, it's a cartoon after all, but the guns actually look discernible as real guns, and the trigger discipline like you said, but also he doesn't try and cock the gun to make the notorious CHK-CHK sound that most other media might. Love that attention to detail.

@@BloodInTheStrawberries Trigger discipline is a teaching that every gun owner should follow to insure the safety of themselves and those around them. Basically, you have to treat the gun you're holding like it could kill whatever it's pointing at at any point in time because, well, it literally can. So to minimize accidents, you should never have your finger on the trigger until you're ready to actually fire the gun, and you should also never point the gun at anything you aren't intending to kill.

Thats why it’s so funny to read article saying that the show doesn’t has something to say and “thinks suicide is a joke.” It was absolutely predictable, and Hadel and Cusack must be laughing their asses off at having called it.
