current league player here: there is no ranked mode other than normal ranked. but, the other casual gamemodes (ARAM and arena) are separately balanced. in aram (assault), there are a few extra items and stacking items stack faster. champions also receive minor stat boosts or nerfs depending on how good or bad they are in arena (8 teams of 2, you fight one team at a time) there are totally different items and gold system, the champs have the same minor buffs or nerfs to their stats if they are good or bad

Interesting point about balancing in dual. Back when I played dual, they only had two blue buffs and a red- no xp camps and no fire giant. Lots of games played out where one person would get the first kill, and the other person would hide under tower until the other person got frustrated and dove tower, or continually got 2/3 or all three buffs. Games would last forever because the losing person was less incentivized to fight if they were weaker. Anyway, my point is smite one in its early days had horrible balancing which made the game mode tedious

Can someone more informed on the meta explain the benefit of building tier 2 warlocks staff and not finishing it till much later? I’m assuming it’s a strong start for gold value, but is it due to warlocks staff itself not being worth the gold?

My biggest issues with SMITE 2 atm are the lack of game modes (I'm an outlier that doesn't play/like conquest), lack of gods and the item system just seems overly complicated. Would love a video breaking down the items and system of the game.
