@@catnat8629 its still a sequel though? its a CORE MECHANIC of the game thousands and thousands of players love why are we removing it for no reason. you clearly hate and are bored with smite 1 if youre just okay with almost all core mechanics changing. imagine everyone dies in the next star wars movie and they use a whole new cast, is it still a sequel, is it still star wars? fuck no its just in the same universe and has maybe 2 or 3 of the same things.

For the class removal: Now that you mention it, I think classes should come back, but more as a guide to tell players "We designed this character with these roles in mind". Because there are characters who are specifically designed for a certain role, like Loki Jungle (aka assassin). They could even expand it a bit, and show subclasses, or flex classes, for characters that can do multiple roles. But realistically, classes are useful for new players to understand the basic role(s) a character was designed for, so they don't jump with a Thanatos support, or a Kukulkan jungle.

@@saygo-pngThat’s just lanes though, not the actual classes itself. Midland for example, mage’s, assassins, ad carry’s and even tanks can be shown there. That just shows “hey, these guys can be played here” but not showing what each character is actually about to get a core idea.

The buff stacking is going to get out of hand and result in stolen buffs by teammates, only invaded stolen buffs should stack on top of 1 buff from your side of the map

I would like some MPS on more items with CDR. An endgame build in Smite 2 so far can almost reach 80%, and as it does you begin to realize just how mana hungry it gets. Also, it’s dumb that basic Consumables take up an item slot. I would make it so that you can consume up to 5 Health and Mana Potions each, and that once you hit a certain threshold of lowered Health/Mana, they pop on their own. And also-also, I think it would be fun if every tier 3 item had a branching version: An active effect (which would be stronger since it’s on a cooldown) and a passive (which would be a weaker but more readily available version of the active), like if every three tier item in smite had a Glyph. And maybe more free “relic” choices. It’s nice the you can have either beads OR blink now, but a few more choices would be fun.

i think the interact mechanic is good. I think they just implemented it really poorly. Having hecate's passive use the interact key is cool and i want other gods to have ways to interact with the map/Gods around them without using an ability.

my problem with the strength intelligence system is that it makes characters that have to build both feel worse than characters that can just build one type of damage and have everything scale off of that

Yup! Neith autos hit like wet noodles with an Int build, but her abilities mostly scale with Int sooooooo either you build AA neith with horrible abilities, or Int neither horribles autos. It feels really bad compared to a god who scales with STR for abilites and autos.

What im hoping from the relic one slot system is they let us pick one of those 5 relics base form at lvl one, and at lvl 12 or somewhere around there we can replace it with any upgraded versions of tthose relics. Example, starting teleport in solo, but at lvl 12 you can upgrade it too persistent teleport, or go a upgraded version of combat blink.

16:45 i agree im not very impressed by the component item system, ever since the smite 1 update that gave t2’s passive effects they kinda proved that the practical effect was exactly the same. Imo changing the item system to be more like league’s when smite 2 is popular because ITS NOT like LoL reminds me of the usual mistake every mmo makes in their attempts to compete with WoW, only to eat shit bc nobody wants to play ‘WoW but different’ more than the original. It’s good to learn from the biggest games in the field like with the pre-game passives and free actives (blink/beads atm) but not everything needs to be copied and i feel like the more causal players who have a little bit of experience with smite 1 will bounce off of the new item system harder than if it was just the same but with more depth/item choices/keybinds for active effects.

I feel like the tree system is needed. It more console and new player friendly. Like you go to this int power tree, their your mid items. You go to this crit+attack speed tree, there your hunter items, but then there a crit+power tree and that your jungle potential items. It just simplier and easier

I'm hoping the Strength/Intelligence system, and a new god design, will finally make Freya a balanced god. I'm excited to see what they do for her after 10+ years of problems with her design.

Haven’t played it yet but I’m pretty interested in the tall grass mechanic. I feel like it will be fun to use but could get really annoying when the enemy uses it but idk I’ll find out when I play it🤷‍♂️

Honestly, it feels like this is just Smite Legends. The similarities to League's mechanics just feel odd on paper.

I only hate the component item system because it's just extra clicks and item slot clutter for no real difference in gameplay. It's just so much easier to just know what T1 and T2 you need for the T3 item your going for and just going up the item tree. I think the component system is just some strange way to make other MOBA players feel less alienated by smite 2.

Alright. Lad. Low level players will never fight over objectives. If you make gold fury universal it *must* have boring buffs and weak ones otherwise the gold fury will hav eone or two buffs that would be too good. In any event i actually like the idea of scaling buffs as it is. However i am not fine tih the current teir 3 gold fury as it is way too powerful when combined with the teir 4 fury. One or the other should exsist and personally i would rather have the teir 3 as a temporary but powerful buff rather than just turn off structures as the amount of of matches i had where matches just ended cause of both was beyond not fun.

I think the argument that low level players don't play for the objective is pointless because of matchmaking. Low level players are put against other low level players so they will both ignore the objective. If anything, giving them more noticeably powerful and game-changing effects will teach them to take objectives more.

With the flat pen removal i think yha7 said that flat pen is like getting 3 times the amount of power a god has so they dont like it.

only thing i dont like about stacking jg buffs is when someone who sucks ass gets mad there gonna troll and go around collecting all your buffs so you canty get them becasue they wanna surrender

I love how smite 1 art style is, same with world of warcraft. I hate hyper realistic graphics in my games. I could care less about shadows and hair quality lol

Zeus' rework is a big miss IMO, his new 2 doesn't combine with his kit that well and also kinda changes his playstyle but it feels off? It's hard to pin down, but that's not the type of big kit changes they should add.

Did you listen to the actual video? The reason those mechanics changes are in C tier is because they don't really impact how the game plays very much. If they increased Anubis's ult damage by 10, that's a good change because he's weak, it doesn't mean it's an S-Tier change because it has no real impact on the game. Whereas something like the strength/int system completely changes the game so even if it has some issues, it's had a larger positive impact on the game than changing how one specific mechanic works.

@@Inters3ct Watched the whole thing but I think you need a better definition of what the tier list is even about. For example: A fantastic change that everyone loves, and is objectively great for the game, but is overall a minor change and didn't take a lot of dev time is grounds for a C tier because it wasn't a major change. A decent change that's kinda good, kinda bad, or a good thought but poorly executed, is grounds for A tier because of what it "could" be or how much it shifts the meta. In my opinion this scale makes absolutely no sense. Are you judging them based on how much they "could" change the game? How much they "have" changed the game? How much the community appreciates them? Your scale is all over the place. It doesn't even matter if anyone agrees or disagrees with your takes, because your takes are fine but the correlating tier for each one is completely arbitrary.

@@narwhals6465 It's not that hard to understand and I explain it in the video. It's purely my own opinion based on how much positive impact they have on the game. It's that simple. A small but universally positive change ranks lower than a massive, generally positive change because the latter has more overall positive impact.

What if solo lane hard wins lane but the enemy adc hard wins their lane? Who should win? That's why 'win lane win game' isn't something that makes sense as a guarantee.

I honestly really hate that every god can build every item. I really do think its going to ruin item balancing and it has removed a lot of effects from the game. Some effects aren't bad in certain roles but game warping on others. Look at Supports they needed some passive gold gained in order to function otherwise they'll fall off in the late game and never catch up. Supports will struggle in Smite 2 because passive gold won't be added to item cause every god can build every item. The game will now shift to being more aggressive so 'true' supports will fall off hard because they won't be able to catch up. Also hated classes being removed. I get the idea that they want to be more flexible and not locked into a specific mindset but it was a fast and easy way to say 'hey this god can be really good in this role'. Now you have to decipher a huge block of text and hope you picked a decent god for the role. Not big on the Active items, not a terrible system but kind of limiting. I think I would like the system better if it wasn't on a specific item but like an item group. Not every god would like to build this one specific item to get this specific active effect. It again will make item balancing a nightmare. It will make a certain item a 'must buy' which is contradictory to having a choice. Could have it be something where you can only have one of this active effect but it could be added to a certain group replacing the passive effect. This opens up every item and you could have a few more options for passive effects. You could have a base item that was made to hold the active effect but be able to add that onto a different item that you want to build. Lots of different ways it could be done.

I find it weird your two S tiers are by far, far, far far FAR the WORST change in my opinion. -Two damage types per god for damage output just doesn't make any sense to me. Impossible to balance. Gods with monotype will be 100% of the time better. -And active items make either the effect useless or the item. Glyphs with the passive/semi autonomous still feel like the better way to implement this. Or limit it to ONE, still feels like a downgrade from glyphs for me.

I think the flat pen removal was a sensible change. Right now, the best items to build in the early game are almost always items with Flat Pen. Removing Flat Pen means that you don't have to feel obligated to build those flat pen items to get through the early game. Basically, it opens up build choice for that early game, which they've said they don't want people to be restricted like they are in smite 1. Now, of course, there's always gonna be a meta build, but in smite 2, it won't feel as bad to not build those meta builds, and i think removing flat pen is one of the ways they're trying to accomplish this. I know for me personally, if flat pen items were in smite 2, i would probably end up buying them first or second item in most games, but i don't have to worry about that. If people are still a bit too tanky in the early game, the devs could reduce base protections and have them scale up harder. That way, you end up being less tanky in the early game, but be about the same lays game. But if you add flat pen, then the damage dealers are always going to build it first and second item, and that's just going to make the new item system less interesting.

Flat pen was removed because it was just the best damage stat that dictated what items built first. Theres already a damage stat. Power or i guess str and int now but now you can build for other stats and passives without concern of flat pen that had a strangle hold on first items. Its something i had to drill into new players constantly. 'If you want damage just build flat pen. Dont even look at other damage items unless you have 1 or 2 flat pen items already.'

This being a tier list video kinda doesn’t make sense because the criteria for the tiers is kinda arbitrary and doesn’t really include the actual execution of the thing. Putting god kit changes in A when only a couple of the gods have actually been meaningfully changed is just kinda wack
