When he buys a second evil eye at 12:15, I don't get it. Double evil eye gives 30 int and 20% pen, while balor's eye gives 20 int and 25% pen. Since the cost is the same to go for either (1200g), it's a really easy comparison. Int has more value the higher something scales with it, and %pen has more value the base damage something does and the more protections an enemy has. Take the example in the video where a level 15 zeus (92 natural strength) has an eldritch orb, an oracle staff, he has maxed points in 1 and 3, and three points in his ult (using desmos graphing calculator to see where the curves cross). His basic attacks (92 from strength +20% int scaling) hit for more on targets with 37 mag prots or more. His 1 (160 base+60% scaling) does more damage with balor's eye to targets with 57 mag prots or more. His 3 (170+30% scaling) does more damage with balor's eye to targets with 31 mag prots or more. His ult (150+60% int) does more damage with balor's eye to targets with 60 mag prots or more. His opponent is a level 14 kukulkan (46 natural mag prots), and his natural mag prots only increase per level (54 natural prots on kukulkan at lv20). Even on a squishy, his basics and his 3 hit for less with double evil eye at the stage in the game where he bought that, and it only progresses to favor balor's eye as the game goes on. Is it worth sacrificing the damage for the increased flexibility of still being able to choose what to build the evil eye into? I'd just build the tier 3.

It’s more so about getting 2 evil eyes is nearly same stats as finishing the Balors Eye. + gives you a better timing of a power spike if you did finish both Soul Dev and Balors. Not the immediate power spike. It’s a low cost, high return investment.

The spike happens when you have the 1550 (1200 to finish balor's eye and 350 to finish soul devourer) right? That's the same amount of gold as it takes to upgrade your oracle staff to a full soul devourer. Is the plan to back only 350 gold later instead of 1550 to have a short window where you're soul devourer + one evil eye?
