This has caught my interest, I just wanna say this is presented really well. Brief history, skills, playstyle and gameplay scenarios. Love that she was playing with the cat in the end like that, really cute. I haven't played a MMO in time, in fact hearing so much about LoL, DOTA, FFXXIV etc kinda erks me, but I am a sucker for lore and mythology.

While she is sexier, most depictions of Bastet look like her old model, I am gonna miss my blue cat, now she looks like a supermodel Egyptian woman cosplaying as a nekomimi. At least her moveset remains the same (as does her running speed) For a wihle I thought she got slower, but it just might be her new animations that make it seem that way.

All this complaining!! I think we need to remember the good things that came with her remodel. Firstly - the recolor skin. I always use her with the Dominatrix skin since it's actually bearable now (not to mention the lovely little tattooed inks under her eyes that aren't on the main). Pre-Update it was clearly dark blue, not black like the character card hinted. The beads around her waist were also an ugly tan color that melted into her skin, so it looked kind of like she was naked. Secondly - posture. Oh my god, was I the only one who noticed her totally upright standing posture slanted backwards? On loading screens and god preview it was unsettling to look at, thank goodness she was more vertically aligned in the actual matches... you know when she actually bends her knees? Thirdly - Cat o' Nine Tails / the whip. Behold! The almighty movement! Before the thing reminded me of one of those plastic segmented snakes that could wiggle back and forth one way but couldn't perpendicularly to that. Funky... Fourthly - Color Scheme. Lol what, you say? I was an initial skeptic, but after a bit of thought, this color scheme seems to make more sense (though I do like the recolor better). It's actually believed that the sphinx was painted red at some point in time, and that would coincide with her currently reddish look. The first skin was more of a sarcophagus/statuesque gold look. Considering all the gems and stones the Egyptians probably received from trade and being the glamorous people they were, she is adorned quite logically. Not a fan of the baggage clothing, but it isn't intolerable. Fifthly - just movement in general. Sure it's smoother and more cliche, but her landings are much softer after pounce. She has good clothes movement too. I also would like to mention that the dangling pieces from her helmet and "skirt?" stuck to her body like glued down sticks. The pieces on the helmet occasionally phased *through* her helmet when she turned. That's an improvement. Lastly - Ult cats. Nuff said. Yeah, there are some things I wish they would've kept. The bases of her ears are less triangular and more rounded. Not what you want for a cat but I can deal. The nose is less cat-ish and more human, it's slightly confusing in comparison with Ahnur now, but I'm talking like their lineage makes sense anyway. Other than that it's just more clothes - ones I don't favor, and the fact that she's less anthropomorphic. The whip is also jiggly so I only actually see the hit from the particle effects it makes on the enemy. That's kind of what whips do though, so it's okay. It's a whole new concept. Some favor it and others don't. It's got it's benefits nevertheless. After-note: Her skill-set is mainly the same, which I love. I don't get the hate on her ult either, it's like her 2 only more diverse and it lasts longer with a much better range. I've body blockaded people since the cat's actually have substance so enemies become completely immobile (takes a little luck though). Fun fun fun 2000+ kills and assists and rising.

Bast is a little op. I suggest nerfing her ultimate, cat call, and make it last a couple of seconds. The thing that really makes this ultimate deadly, is that not only are they annoying to kill they slow the enemy, do tons of damage, and last for a really long time. Nerfing one of these three effects of her ability should even it out. Also, other Egyptian Gods I'd like to see in Smite are: Osiris, Set, Thoth, and Ma'at(especially Ma'at, she is the Egyptian Goddess of justice, basically the Egyptian equivalent of Tyr and Nemesis.)

Maybe it's just me, but whenever I use cat call, it doesn't do anything other than rake about 100 damage before it's negated. I'd prefer a shorter, nuke-ish ultimate. Maybe a cat rocket! ...No?

Each cat does around 50 damage, and every second with all three cats is 150. That can cause some major destruction. Thats why i suggested nerfing one of the three things it does. I think it would be equal if that were to happen. A cat rocket would be awesome though xD

xSharkNinjax I know how it'd work. "Bastet loads a cat into her launcher and fires it in a line, attaching to the first enemy god it encounters. The cat claws at it's target for 3 seconds, dealing damage each second and amplifying any existing bleeds on the target by 25%. The cat can be harmed by enemies. Should the duration finish, the enemy god is slowed by 20% for 5 seconds, and the cat leaps to a new victim." Thoughts?

firedonutzFTW see, I liked it because it seemed to fit right in with the majority of the other gods. It didn't mean to be more human, it was just a cat on two legs. That goes perfectly with a pantheon that includes a dog, a lion, a bird and a crocodile! But now that she's taken on more of a human form she just seems more like Neith 2.0. There's way less that separates her from the other women now.

I don't get it. All the signs are there, that Bastet should have a steroid ult or something that works like the ult nemesis has. The whole ready to pounce at any moment concept, not to mention that if you've ever seen a cat cornered, they are bat shit crazy and pound for pound are possibly the most dangerous thing to fight with. ***** thana can really snowball to lategame, if he dominates early... if he manages to flank the enemy in a lategame teamfight he can single handedly (almost single handedly ^^ cauase the enemy team is attacking the rest of his team) kill the entire enemy team cause he has so much damage, and the sustain is also amazing. but the idea in bastet and arachne is that "There is no lategame" cause its either the enemy team is so far behind at that point that they can do nothing to come back to the game, or that they will jsut surr. but the condition is if they get fed ofc :D
