sailornaruto39 Its the best way to play IMO but I know it annoys people who aren't into strategy and are too eager to get kills quickly rather than deploying thought to strategy. Don't get me wrong, I have about 8 deaths, but that's from people who properly organised their attacks into united strength. I play neith as a hard hit and run style and only advance while opponents are broken up.

***** That's how I try to play Amaterasu and after gaining some experience and understanding other characters I know how to avoid certain moves and take advantage of teammates skills, but sometimes I get too eager for a kill. It's a really fun game, hope to see you in game XD

Technically Freya [or Freyja] isn't a Valkyrie. Since she's in the game along with Odin, I'm kinda amazed that other main Norse Gods aren't in like Hrist, Brynhilde [you know, ACTUAL Valkyries] or Ratatoskr. Hell, if Mercury is there, Ratatoskr can be there in some way.

Instead of getting Fatalis, I'd get a soul eater, not only would it help in team fights, but she's a type of hybrid, getting lifesteal out of her physical attacks makes use of her passive. It also adds much needed attack speed to her.

Incorrect, they were the chooser of the slain (which is what Valkyrie translates into.) They weren't blood thirsty, they just chose who lived and who died in battle...They apparently didn't do a ton of fighting themselves.

It is possible to come up with original ideas and coincidentally be "somewhat" similar to another. Doesn't mean HiRez needs to copy LoL or that they did. Freya has a banish, invulnerability and burst tied into her ult and her ranged attacks do less damage but slow.

Artemis shoots magical arrows, and she is a Physical character. Sobek uses a huge axe, ares and freya uses huge swords, guan yu uses a something like a Niganata, ymir uses a huge hammer and they are magical ~~ Smite logic ~~

If you check polynomicon's rank 3 passive, after a skill, all basic attacks are increased by +100% every 5 seconds after an ability is cast which compliments freya because most of her skills are basic attack buffers, also the atk speed gain from fatalis to put in more hits during that 5second window from polynomicon passive... there are no shit items, you just gotta know when and how to use them...

She did. After a warrior died, she chose who deserved to go to Valhalla or something. She helped to create the Valkyries I think

+89taklung i'm not sure she's leader of the valkyries (i think smite just based it loosely) but she does chose warriors that die bravely since she and his brother Frey are the Vanir ruler of Vanaheim. In Norse mythology there's two tribes of gods: Aesir and Vanir. Half of the "honorable" dead (people that bravely died) go to Valhalla while other half goes to Folkvanger in Vanaheim, which is the valhalla counterpart of the Vanir.

They previewed her yesterday on the HiRez twitch channel, trying out different builds. she looks pretty good, her ult does need a bit more balancing lol the range on it is way too far, you can pick off runners from a good distance.

It might just be me, but it seems like she is gonna suffer early game a bit. I think she'll be pretty good once you get a build going and have your ult up. I'm just glad she has a CC that doesn't allow people to just utter decimate you while you're CCed.

based upon league of legends with 3d fps view rather then top down like lol and dota2 similaritys are based entirely on lol aka several champions and items are almost identical apart from the name and looks Renekton from lol for instance is called Sobek in smite and the abilities are almost the same aswell

Freya can't clear enemy waves instantly so it's very likely that her polynomicon's hit will be wasted on creeps + without cooldown reduction items, her cooldowns are relatively long.

There's only so much creativity and viable abilities people can come up with for games like this. Play the game, you'll notice even those abilities that are "similar" are completely different in this game.

So Freya is Kayle... Kayle's old passive = Build Magic Damage, get Attack Damage. Skill 1+2 = Kayle's Righteous Fury, turning melee attacks into ranged with bonus magic damage. Pulse on it's own is similar to Kayle's Reckoning. Freya's ultimate, like Kayle gives her brief invincibility, but Freya gets some nice burst damage to go with it. The only major difference between the two is that Kayle has a Heal/Speed Buff, while Freya has a disable. I love Kayle though, so I'll probably play Freya.

They are identical, but LoL did the same thing with DotA. I played all three and honestly I like LoL most and I've played for a long time. Fiora is similar to Juggernaut, Ashe is pretty similar to Drow Ranger (and Mirana), and Hecarim is pretty similar to Spirit Breaker (and they were released at close dates). Other things are even DotA related (Rylai's, Nashor, PD possibly) I wouldn't consider them a copy but I definitely see that they were inspired by them in some way. Not hating just saying

While I never even thought of her armor being changed, and agree with your general sentiment of there being no reason to complain about Freya. You should consider how you respond to things. If you want to get into Lore, the battle armor we associate with Valkyries and Freya in modern times is not part of it. Historically, she was always portrayed either completely naked (as most Norse gods were) or she was fully robed in a dress, baring nothing more than her arms and face.

Just going to say she is Norse so a "midnight winter storm" is so deadly it was s natural defence that enemies could not invade in the winter or at night but the houses were easily kept warm And also you forgot she cries gold and has a frost blade so cold that iron armor makes you weaker to it

I only compare the abilities really >o> I think Freya is really, the only Nordic Deity not to have 3 or 4 of their abilities a rip off of other champions *Thor litterally haveing almost all 5* xD The only ability that i could mark off as 'Clone' would be her Melee basic attack turns into Range Basic attack that Kayle has. Outside of that >o> she is completely unique as far as I can tell. WOOT, GOOD JOB HIREZ!

Freya has an 'ulti' (or special move before you try and be all pedantic) that means she flies and CANNOT BE HIT this is the equivalent of LoL's Kayle whos ulti is INVULNERABILITY... the fact that theyve made her fly instead of having a sphere amounts to one and the same. And if you want to dispute that Kayle flies by default anyway.

From what i've heard they aren't likely to add true "stealth" gods, they don't feel its needed with the 3rd person view. What I personally would like to see is something like a god who doesn't show up on the minimap. That would be sick. (Perhaps too strong, but we will see.)

True, but each ult is used for different reasons. You use Thor's for surprise ganks and escapes, Ares' for setting up kills (Which, FYI, is still viable against a team with beads, you just have to have a coordinated group.), and Freya, well...it kind of looks like she's just gonna lay down the hammer with her ult, so to speak. I'd say thor's is the weakest.
