Basically you deal less damage by a percentage, meaning that all of your base damage and any damage you get from items is reduced, but you take less damage overall in the same way, and it scales with the level of your character, ramping up with less damage taken but also reducing the damage you put out. It basically forces you to be tanky and not deal as much damage, which is fine on Nox since you're focused on locking people down, not killing them. And the damage taken reduction is pretty crazy, at a lot points in the game you're tankier than actual warriors/guardians. Also, it has a similar effect to War Flag and Sentinel's Gift, if an ally kills a minion nearby to you, you get health, mana, and extra gold.

@@Shenmoki and what about when I buy the lvl 15 upgrade? I have those 5 stacks, but I don't understand when they are giving me defensive stats and when they are making me do less damage and healing

@@nynave300 basically if you buy more items with Protections on them, you reduce the amount of damage and healing reduction, if you buy Lono's Mask all on its own you start with the full damage and healing reduction. Buying power items or items with health on them doesnt effect the item at all, the only thing that effects it is buying items with protections on them, the best way to keep track of it is the icons above your health bar when you have the item bought, you'll see stacks of red and stacks of blue, the red is the damage reduction and the blue is the damage mitigation. So, you can typically fit 1 damage item with 4 defense items and get all your damage back, it's also why hybrid items like Spirit Robe, Stone of Binding, Abyssal stone, etc are good because they take up 70+ total protections when you only need 50 protections to take one stack off.

@@rossisusingunagitopivothis1776 Breastplate of Determination and Magi's shelter are better Breastplate of Vigilance is pretty useful into double adcs, but only in that situation. Magi's revenge is fine in a bubble (pun intended) but it's not doing much for you in the long run, with Magi's Shelter it IS kind of annoying how it's kinda out of your hands in terms of who it lands on and when, but it's still more useful than Revenge in the long run.
