What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available!

Tatsuya {ʀᴇᴄᴏɴ} Shiba because your basic auto attacks in League locks on your target automatically (no skill shot required). Whereas, smite is virtually skill shot based. Hence, dodging is a superior mechanic in Smite.

I'm not saying my plays are the best, but I've submitted a fair amount of plays that are pretty damn good (Ranked Quadra kills, simply outplaying your opponent like we've seen in some of these plays) and I have yet to be featured once Now I'm not saying the plays in this Top 10 were bad, they were amazing of course but you think they'd try and get some diversity. I alone how sent in countless amazing plays and I'm assuming hundreds, if not thousands of other plays have too. What annoys me is That Phillow guy was in this list twice, with two plays that were honestly average in my opinion, and Snoopy, a pro player who we know makes great plays, also made an appearance. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood but it would be nice to see more of the community in this video rather than just pros and the same people over and over because I know damn well you've have plenty of better plays to pick from.

Over the year. I have frequently streamed the Top 5 Play selection. I'm 99.99% on point with what the viewers want based on the selections. I did the streams to make sure I'm not being faulty because I want the best episodes too! It's in my best interest to get the best content and I will stay up on patch wipe nights to ensure I get every last one reviewed =) Simply just getting a Quadra kill is nothing. To state "I got a Quadra Kill" is a red flag too. It shows a focus/emphasis on the statistical result and not what happens. Extreme Example : I got a Quadra Kill. -boots up play- It's a level 20 Bakasura pressing his ultimate and killing 4 people who are attacking the Gold Fury and the highest level they have on their team is 15. Now maybe if the team killing the Gold Fury were equal in gold/level. That team used Gold Fury to Bait. You dodged abilities and jumped over ultimates and timed beads / sanctuary / sprint to near perfection whilst having excellent target priority which the enemy team made it difficult for you by splitting up and ensuring very little AoE splash damage. At this point. It doesn't matter if anyone died.It's already looking like a good play! It's all about the "what happens" and not the statistical outcome. We get loads of Doubles, Triples, Quadras and Pentas. The main reason someone gets high kill streaks is more commonly due to being very far ahead or opponents doing some very wacky things (like not using their ultimate or active items or being over extended). Hope this helps =) I don't care who the names are in the show. It's all about the plays! When I first started Top 5 Plays. I did some lobbying to get replays active for everyone and that happened. But now SMITE is so big that it's a big tax on the servers to do so it's just high level ranked games which auto generate a replay. =(

Let's be real guys, Variety was the true MVP of 2016, the man came into swc with everyone expecting not only Variety to do poorly, but his team to follow. Dude pulled out all the pocket picks and was not only unbannable against, but carried Obey to the finals. There was no one that played that well except for Barra at worlds.

3 Days ago I was in a 3v5 situation as Sylvanus, and both of my teammates had less than 10% health, They ran passed me as the whole team was coming for them and I ulted 4 of them, rooted 2, Used my heal to Heal both of my team mates and damage the rest of the other team, my teammates killed 3 of them while I killed the forth, then pulled the Chang'e while her 2 was down, letting my teammates get the diacide. My teammates were a Thanatos and a Hou Yi.

such an amazing set of plays, disappointed that that clip of athena defending the titan 1 vs 5 didn't make it to the top. And Emilitoo is the right MVP for the SWC final. Variety played good but in the end they lost anyway, while emilitoo carryed all the 4 games to the final win.

Morten Keller Sorry I'm not Inuki but it's because on Pc most matches that are actaulky recorded are conquest games. Arena is considered to easy and Joust is usually unrecorded

As Zachary stated! High Level Ranked games will automatically generate a replay. Ranked games are ONLY Conquest and Joust. We do have Joust plays though. They've been appearing more commonly in the series =)
