One big advantage to laminated wood grips is that they are a lot more stable than solid wood grips. Fun video

I have the 686 4" model and the 686+ 5" Talo edition with the silver/black laminate grips Love them both and wouldn't change a thing. Nice revolver you have there!

Why don't they make a boat tail type grip to mitigate muzzle rise? That weight under the full length barrel helps, but I'd love a more positive grip. I have an 8 inch 686 and 27 and they jump with 357 and are an absolute delight with 38s.

Nice video bud! I just got my 686 (the stock version) and glad to see it showcased by others! I think the grips on the deluxe are intended more for display. But also I personally like the feel and look of the stock black rubber grips. They make it really comfy to shoot but I haven't really tested quick consecutive shots in full 357 Magnum rounds. Oh and I was going to say that even though you said the white wasn't balanced in the end, it actually worked to visibly show your shifts better as the movement caused the lightning to change making it clear where you hit! Just a little wabi Sabi I noticed, but overall great video! P.s. you mentioned the "action pack' or something like it to make it a better gun or something like that; I was curious what exactly you were referring to?

The Smith and Wesson Performance Center offers gunsmithing services. They offer action packages to tune up your gun. You can read about it at the link below. www.smith-wesson.com/customer-service/precision-gunsmithing

I have been wanting a 686 for sometime. I just ran across the one that checked all the boxes for me. 686 + 5 inch distinguished combat magnum. I was surprised to run across it new because it says it’s discontinued on Smiths website. I wanted a 5 inch and I wanted the plus so it was a no brainer to grab it. It has a smooth cylinder. I can not wait to try it out.

I want those grips for my 686, how do I get them? From Talo?
@MysteryWheelgunner4 жыл бұрын
I don't think Talo sells those grips separately. Altamont makes the grips for that Talo edition, but the specific grip in the video is not sold separately from the Talo edition 686. Altamont will sell you something similar called the conversion target grip, but it won't be identical.

Wow! this guy is really hung up on the fricking grips... How about we talk about what matters. How does this firearm actually perform in the field. I'm so sick of videos about garbage! The 686 is an awesome revolver! Let's talk about that!!!!!

Let's just be honest.. This guy is a joke. If you are so worried about your grips and how much they cost, you really don't understand the purpose of a hand gun. A revolver. My firearms including my revolvers are for my protection. I keep them clean and lubricated and ready to go. I hope I never have to use them but... they are ready.. Pretty doesn't get it done... You keep spending money on pretty and I'll be ready and you, my friend are not.. Simple to say and true..

How stupid is this to be talking about grips, laminate and how you put them together. How well does this revolver preform? That matters...
