I have the 3-5-7 5 inch version, and absolutely love it. Surprisingly it was really dirty, even though it was N.I.B. I prefer it in stainless steel; because I am meticulous about keeping it super clean after use.

I bought my first pistol which was the 686 stainless 6 inch barrel new in 1980 and still have it , had a great scope installed on it for deer hunting . But no hunting any more , did have my last name engraved on the barrel . It'll be pass it down , still have the original box and the original wooden grips that was on it on it has parmar finger grips on it now And it still looks brand new , wish I could send a picture of it . Anyway like the seven shot too , thanks good video - very entertaining. 👍

Bought a 686-6 6 in about 6 mos ago .... my favorite handgun I own. Smooth trigger in both single and double action. I HIGHLY recommend one. It was a choice between this and a Colt Python .... I got the S&W and didnt look back!!!

Just bought the 686-6 6in. Local shop had TWO cases with revolvers compared to a few months ago. Clerk said the recent gun issues people new to revolvers pretty much with most of them out. He guessed the semi autos were a bit advanced for them...

I just shot mine. I like it. Get the 44 magnum. Then, shoot the 357. You think you are shooting 22.

Great looking 686. The grips really give it some character. Good choice with those. That's also the first time I've ever seen a cable lock packed with a S&W revolver. The guys on Critique This channel also have a "liking" for the VCI paper that get shipped with S&Ws. It's almost a fetish with those guys LOL.

I know wooden grips always look better on a revolver but the hard fact is if you said you're going to be going to the range with that gun a lot once you start shooting the heavier loads you're going to want to be putting those rubber grips back on I've had a couple different revolvers where I've had the very nice looking wooden grips but if you start shooting it a lot those rubber grips are going to be a lot more friendly to you when your hand starts sweating just saying

I'm speaking from experience I have the 4-in model 29 the 6-in with the 586 model and a 4-in eight shot from Smith & Wesson and the only wooden grips that I have left on these three revolvers is the 44 which is got the most kick but my 44 is all hand engraved on the metal and the grips are also engraved so it's kind of hard to be putting rubber grips on something like that so them will stay with the wooden grips no matter what but the other two shoot easier with the rubber grips if you're going to be at the range a lot have fun great guns

I like the Smith wesson, 627 pro series holds 8 rounds, 4 inch,cut for moon clips, In the N frame and it only 40oz

Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from Buffalo as you can. They are a part of the Buffalo Trading gun store here in Findlay and love to rip people off. I purchased some of their 44mag ammo a few months ago, it looks like it was stored in a river and several of the cases split when fired. The exposed lead on the end of the round was corroded and the brass was stained black. While its a beautiful store to visit I wouldn't buy a thing from them unless it was your only option.
