One is for sale near me for $20 and found you in a quick search to get a feel for what it types like. Thanks so much for making this video!

I have the Singer version of this, and I agree with you it's one of the very best combinations of electric convenience and manual carriage operation. A "desert island" machine -- if the island has electricity, that is!

I have an Electra 120 with the Artistic 75 typeface.

Lovely! It is rather uncommon to find the electric machines in script!

@@LazyDogTypewriters I know - paid a premium for it. Seems many people are aware of Artistic 75 and even machines on goodwill are going for inflated prices.

I just bought one of these last week for $20 and I am over the moon. I can't figure out the year, though. I'd like to find a manual so I can play with all the levers and maximize the features. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Google keeps trying to send me to the "Automatic 10", but it's not "automatic" version.

I have one of these and I love it. By my return bar just touches the top of the case at the front when typing. When I press it to return it swings up about .5" clearing the case (top cover). Nothing looks bent, but I am assuming something must be or something is out of adjustmnet.. Any idea how to correct this?

Yep, this is a common ailment of many vintage smith coronas. The carriage return lever is bent down -- usually by someone leaning on it or putting it in the case improperly then closing it. What you have to do is very carefully and gently bend that lever UP just a bit to create clearance. Search for Phoenix Typewriter on youtube and look for a video on straightening the carriage return lever. But in a nutshell, you gently lift up on front and push down at the rear where the bar is attached. Be careful as you CAN break these levers which in most cases are actually plastic

@@tpaynemm WOW thanks for the quick reply! It looks like cast aluminum so I was very scared to try to bend it back for fear of snapping it right off

@@floridagliderpilot4101 Here's a video for the METAL arms. You likely have a plasticized metal arm. They CAN break - I have broken one. But if it is scraping you have little recourse. Examine the mechanism where it attaches. And make very gentle, minor adjustments -- more like nudges then bends. Good luck kzbin.info/www/bejne/npelkndmaN2Ah7c&ab_channel=PhoenixTypewriter

@@tpaynemm Hey Talan thanks for this. I was able to bend the arm bracket back as you described, works great now! Thanks!!
