Smith Fly Fishing Sunglasses: Barra vs Guide's Choice

I ordered 3 different pairs of Smith sunglasses and compared them to determine which is the best option for fly fishing while looking decent at the same time!

Did you end up keeping the guides choice? I enjoyed your review, I also want a pair I can wear casually as well. The guides look very comfortable, I have a pair of the barra, I like them, was just curious if you would recommend the guides choice, thanks

Hi Joe, I ended up only keeping the Barra's. The way the guide's choice hinge flexes definitely makes them more comfortable, but I wear my Barra's all day and never get any discomfort. The glass lenses in the guide's choice are nicer as well, but I know I'd never wear them casually as they're way too technical looking in my opinion.

The Barra's for me. But do they come in glass? I prefer glass lenses. P.S. By the way, what exact color are the last pair of Barra you own (those without the green mirror)?

I see the Barra's now come in glass...when I made this video they didn't. I did just order the Smith Shoutout's with the glass chroma pop lenses in hopes that they are a good casual/fishing pair!

Have you ever tried the Smith Redding? They are a slimmer silhouette and might be good for casual and fishing. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for watching! I have not tried the Redding as it's a bit too rounded for my big head. I just ordered the Smith Shoutout's with the glass chroma pop brown lenses and hope they are a good casual fishing pair!

The green mirror is less geeky than the brown lens. The brown lens Barra kinda looks like those "over your prescription glasses" glasses you get at Walgreens. I'm going to try the Barra and Castaway on if I can find those frames. I'm in Idaho, so it shouldn't be difficult.
