Great video Adrian , When I was in the military we mostly used quick ties but had a couple of sets of SW they were the best.

Hey Samule, I have the double sided quick ties laying here for a review ;) The police here uses different models from state to stae, some use Clejuso, some S&W some Peerless (which I also like a lot) some Hagge, etc. The police in my area uses S&W and is VERY pleased with them as far as I know. Glad you also like them man!

Very good presentation also! Mt Hiatts have 3 different locking pawls/bars inside which make it very difficult to shim all 3 at the same time, as the S&W only have one locking bar.

Hey Jim, I know that Hiatt is now owned by Safariland. The previous owner started a new company called TCH. I find that the TCH is very good in quality and also like the 3 locking pawls. However the S&W is tighter in its tolerances at least that is my opinion. I was able to shim the TCH more easily than the S&W. Could it be that older Hiatts made in England had a better quality than newer models? Which exact model are you talking about? Best wishes, Adrian

Very well done as always. I personally never want to see a pair of handcuffs, however, except for on your videos.

Hey Patrick, thanks for the comment man! After all doing reviews on handcuffs was your idea remember? Now I am doing a whole series on them but I agree with you I also never want to see a pair of them from "the other" side!

Great video Adrian! Do you think these handcuffs would be shimable (but only single locked) ?
@AdrianWeber10 жыл бұрын
They are shimable but only with a VERY slim shim and on some models I can not get them because the cliff of the ratchet is sometimes too much in the way. I would say yes but it is not easy and Police officers (at least the German ones and the ones I know) will ALWAYS double lock them. You can not wack the double lock on the S&W. That is also the reason why the guys from certain lock picking organisations never pick the S&W handcuffs because it is not as easy as the internet makes you think it would be ;)

I own many different brands, makes and models (hinged and chained), yet find my Hiatts (made in England) brand handcuffs are of much more higher quality.
