Smiths Commander PRS-60 unboxing and first impressions

This is my unboxing of the brand new PR-60 from Timefactors. A dive watch that is suitable for most wrist sizes and particularly suited to us small wristed people! This looks like it's going to be a popular watch and i'm really looking forward to wearing it for an extended period. I will follow up with a short term review very soon. I did exactly the same with regard to purchasing! Had the app open on my phone, was refreshing like mad and thankfully got one (coming tomorrow!) Learnt my lesson with the Everest, took time putting my card details in and it vanished! Great advice.

After missing the time slot on this one i’m relieved to see this is much too chunky for my tastes (i am very picky). The dial is gorgeous though, similar to the prs-25 gilt dial i had.

Received mine tonight. The negatives: No reviews mentioned the metal bracelet has a different color than the case. The fit is great but the colour doesn't match. The bezel action seems very unrefined to me. It's loud and rough. On a good note, there is no back play whatsoever. Instead of 6 micro-adjust holes, I could do with 4 if they made the clasp shorter to balance the case. Other than these, all looks great. The case doesn't feel thick. Proportion is good, seconds hand reach to the edge of the dial. Loved the muster colour of the indexes in contrast to the black dial.

The bracelet also have sharp edges and does pull my hair from time to time due to loose tolerance. Good thing the watch is a strap Monster.

@Time and time again: When sizing the bracelet, did the screws of the links come loose easy? No Loctite/glue needed? What size screwdriver needed? Perhaps need to buy the correct size. Ordered my Commander today(lucky).

Hi mate, they came out fairly easily but didn't go back in very easily. I had most success when screwing with a 1.2mm until I got close to the link then did the last few turns with a 1mm. Hope this helps 🙏

Even with dome sapphire 14.6 mm on a 38 mm diver ? It’s bizarre the Miyota movement is thin don’t really understand why the watch is so thick..

14.6mm is verging on unwearable. I cannot imagine that being as comfortable as a 12mm watch on the long run. I do not see the point of a faraday cage, i have many watches, most lacking a faraday cage and they do just fine in terms of accuracy.

@@Time_and_time_again Great review, thanks! It's a beautiful watch but is nearly the thickness of a mechanical chronograph. I don't think a nato strap would work too well with the additional height it would add to it.

Watch heights are so personal or individual and independent. Each watch needs to be worn on a proper bracelet or strap before making a judgment… depth really is more than a number imho (if that makes sense). I’ve been surprised many a times but really appreciate everyone’s opinions. Thanks

I wish it wouldn't be so thick. I'd probably give up on the antimagnetic cover for a thinner case.It also seems to be a magnet for fingerprints from your video. It's a nice watch but the fake patina and old lume doesn't do the trick for me
